  • Patent number: 4685587
Abstract: A pressure cooker in which a pressure vessel (1) and a lid (2) are associated with each other by means of a bayonet-type closure system (4, 5) is provided with a sealing gasket (3) fitted between the pressure vessel and the lid and with a controlled leakage device having a push-rod (8) mounted on the lid (2). The sealing gasket (3) has at least one groove (11) parallel to one edge of the gasket in a lateral face which is directed towards the pressure vessel (1) externally of this latter. When the sealing gasket (3) is displaced by the push-rod (8), the groove (11) establishes a calibrated leakage flow between the interior and the exterior of the pressure vessel.

  • Patent number: 4620643
Abstract: The safety device is for a pressure-cooking appliance comprising a pressure vessel (1) on which is mounted a lid (2) provided with an opening (8) which communicates with the interior of the vessel (1) and in which are mounted a valve and valve stem (9) for closing the opening when the pressure within the vessel attains a predetermined value. The lid handle (5) and the vessel handle (6) comprise a thumb-actuated locking device (11, 15, 16, 18, 20) which cooperates with the valve stem (9) of the lid for preventing closure of the valve as long as the two handles (5, 6) are not in the closed position and for preventing opening of the lid (2) when the two handles are in the locked position as long as the valve is in the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4370999
Abstract: The device comprises a steam-escape duct (1) terminated by a valve-seat (3, 4). A shut-off surface (71, 72), realized in a cap (65) at the bottom of an axial cavity (8) slidably mounted on the duct (1), rests, in the service conditions, on the seat (3, 4). The cap (65) is weighted such that its center of gravity is located below the seat (3, 4). The axial cavity (8) is connected to the outside by two eccentric vents (70) causing the cap (65) to rotate by reaction of the steam which traverses them as soon as the cooking-pressure is reached. The device comprises an element (73) permanently attached to the cap (65) and manually displaceable between two positions each of which determines a different lifting pressure for the cap (65) in relation to the duct (1).Use for permitting easy adaptation of the cooking pressure to the kind of food.
