    Abstract: The invention is directed to a suspension containing: (a) at least one water-insoluble colorant, (b) at least one heterocyclic compound of the general formula 1 and (c) water and/or a mono- or polyhydric alcohol. The aqueous suspension is produced when the water-insoluble colorant and the heterocyclic compound of the formula 1 are dispersed in water and/or a mono- or polyhydric alcohol. The suspension is useful for producing waterborne inks, ink jet inks, coatings and solventborne printing inks.
