  • Patent number: 9683973
Abstract: A non-destructive testing and inspection (NDT/NDI) system and method operable to conduct an ultrasonic scanning test on a test object that synchronizes and merges the apertures of two or more NDT sub-instruments in frequency and phase. Disclosed are a method of using a Phased Lock Loop (PLL) as a synchronizing clock/trigger generator, and also a method of using a General Positioning Clock (GPS) and a pulse per second (PPS) output. Both methods combine ultrasonic scanning data acquisition from two or more NDT sub-instruments, and transform the sub-instruments into one bigger NDT instrument.

  • Patent number: 9286265
Abstract: An add-on device and method for managing an electronic control unit (ECU) of a vehicle is disclosed. The add-on device includes a transceiver adapted for communicating with the communication network of a vehicle. The add-on device further includes a controller being communicatively connected to the transceiver, and adapted to generate a user-interface control signal addressed to the user interface of the vehicle, in order to manipulate the user interface of the vehicle and to present thereon command options prompting a user to enter a command selection in response to the command options presented. The controller is further adapted to receive the command selection from the user interface, and to generate in response thereto, an ECU control signal to be sent to the communication network for executing an operation with respect to a targeted ECU, in order to manage the targeted ECU from the user interface of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 9080952
Abstract: Disclosed is a method and a phased array inspection device enabling calibration of the device with an optimized pulse rate, the pulse rate is derived based on the true adaptive value of the impedance of the specific phased array probe circuit or the pulser circuit and the circuit energy consumption limitations. The energy consumption limitations include the total energy made available by the power supply to the pulser and probe circuit and the pulser energy consumption with limitation due to pulser circuit's physical limit such as thermal limitation.

  • Patent number: 8577629
Abstract: A method and system related to phased array ultrasonic systems identifies faults in individual element on a regular basis. The method and system are based on a simple approach of calculating energy levels in response signals from each individual element and then identifying any discontinuities or unexpected drops in energy levels sensed during a typical phased array operation, by comparing responses for individual transducer elements to the group response.

  • Publication number: 20110307155
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for limiting a dynamic parameter of a vehicle, such as speed or acceleration, and to a vehicle dynamics control module (VDCM), an engine control module (ECM) and a system for carrying out the method as well as to a computer product associated thereto. The present invention allows a driver of a vehicle to be provided with an acceptable acceleration, speed and/or the like, which may be lower than the requested acceleration, speed, etc., in order to optimize energy consumption of the vehicle, typically for transportation vehicles such as trucks, buses and delivery vans. This is accomplished, by a continuously running controller, such as a PI controller and by limiting the integral term of the PI controller, to smoothen transitions when the dynamic parameter is limited and to substantially reduce overshoot with respect to the limit of the dynamic parameter.
