  • Patent number: 11688888
Abstract: A warning system and a warning method for a motor vehicle having a high-voltage battery. The warning system includes a battery housing having the high-voltage battery, an underride protection device, a spatially closed cavity, at least one pressure sensor, and an evaluation device. The spatially closed cavity is arranged in a vertical direction of the warning system above the underride protection device and below the battery housing and is designed to change a volume of the cavity upon a deformation of the underride protection device under the action of a predetermined external force on the underride protection device. The at least one pressure sensor is designed to detect a pressure change value that describes a change in pressure in the pressure in the cavity.

  • Patent number: 9085273
Abstract: For signal processing of solid-borne or structure-borne sound signals, in particular in motor vehicles, and a corresponding occupant protection system, a first-order high-pass filter is provided as a filter, wherein the ?3 dB cut-off frequency thereof lies between the upper and lower operating frequency of the signal evaluation. The signal delay in the filter becomes significantly lower. Damping of the frequencies in the operating range becomes non-uniform, wherein components below the cut-off frequency are damped more heavily. Not only can triggering cases be detected earlier, but also non-triggering cases can be reliably detected.

  • Patent number: 8744690
Abstract: A method for determining a criterion of the severity of an accident by means of an acceleration signal and a solid-borne sound signal. The signal edge direction of the absolute value of the acceleration signal is detected. If the signal edge of the absolute value of the acceleration signal drops, the solid-borne sound signal which occurs in the process is evaluated. The solid-borne sound signal may be integrated and the criterion of the severity of the accident is derived therefrom. This criterion of the severity of the accident can be used directly, or as a function of criteria, to trigger the protection devices.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for signal processing of solid-borne sound signals, in particular in motor vehicles, and a corresponding occupant protection system. A first-order high-pass filter is provided as a filter, wherein the ?3 dB cut-off frequency thereof lies between the upper and lower operating frequency. Thus, not only does the signal delay in the filter become significantly lower, but also the frequencies in the operating range become not equal, but rather components below the cut-off frequency are accordingly damped more heavily, whereby triggering cases not only can be detected earlier, but also non-triggering cases can be reliably detected.
