  • Patent number: 9402348
Abstract: A baling press has feeding structures for feeding rope materials along opposite first and second sides of the pressing channel and one or more knotters on a first side of the pressing channel. Each knotter includes a knot tier for knotting sections of the rope materials in a knotting area to each other, a cutter and a rope holder for holding rope material cut off from the knotted rope sections. The knotting area is closer to the bale pressing channel than the rope holder. A loop supply member is suspended on the first side of the bale pressing channel and has a hook for catching the rope materials and providing loops thereof at the first side. The rope diverter is arranged for urging sections of the rope materials between the hook and the rope holder towards the bale pressing channel into positions extending through the knotting area.

  • Patent number: 6594983
Abstract: A cutting device for agricultural harvesting machines, such as, for instance, self-loading forage boxes or baling presses with a conveyor channel, in which a number of cutting blades mounted in rotatable fashion, arranged at least in a single row and protruding into the conveyor channel in a cutting position interact with a driven rotating conveyor mechanism equipped with conveying prongs and aligned along a horizontal axis crosswise to the travel and work direction for the purpose of cutting stalk products. A support mechanism provides elastic support to each individual cutting blade in the cutting position, and a control device releases the support mechanism, thereby allowing all or a number of cutting blades to rotate into a non-cutting position.

  • Patent number: 6425234
Abstract: A pick-up baler for agricultural produce with a compression piston 9 and a rotary conveyor, which rotates about an axis of rotation 18, comprises rakes 21, 22, which have axes 23 extending approximately parallel to the axis of rotation 18 of the rotor, convey the harvested crop through a supply channel 13, can be swiveled about their rake axes 18 under the control of curves and of which at least one acts as a conveying rake 21, the swiveling of at least one further rake, which functions as a supply rake 22, being controllable as a function of the degree of filling of the supply channel 13 in such a manner that, when a specified degree of filling of the supply channel 13 is reached, the harvested crop, collected there, is conveyed over a baling channel inlet opening 12 into a baling channel 11. The supply rake 22 is guided in a curved path 39, which can be moved from a conveying position into a supplying position, whereas the conveying rakes 21 are guided in an immovable curved path 34.

  • Patent number: 6167738
Abstract: A method and apparatus for replacing rollers of rolling mills of different sizes involves rollers having lift trunnions mounted on a roller stand in a rolling mill by a roller mounting comprising a plurality of mounting pieces on both ends of the rollers and connected to each other by connecting elements. The roller mounting and the rollers are removed from the roller stand of the roller mill using a conveyor means and passed in a rolling line to an apparatus for replacing the rollers arranged exteriorly of the rolling line. The roller mounting is removed in an upright position and subsequently swung into a horizontal position wherein the mounting pieces are removed from the lift trunnions on both ends of the rollers and brought into a park position.

  • Patent number: 4795201
Abstract: A method of knotting with a clamp adjacent an axis and a two-jaw knotting head rotatable about the axis comprises the steps of first wrapping a strand around an object to be trussed with the strand ends together and gripping and retaining the strand ends together in the clamp with one of the strand end portions passing under the jaws of the knotting head and then upward to the object, the other strand end portion passing over the knotting head between the one end portion and the axis and then downward to the object, and the strand end portions crossing between the knotting head and the object being trussed. Then the knotting head is rotated through less than one full revolution with the jaws closed together to bring the crossing point of the strands onto the jaws and loop the one end portion around the jaws. The jaws are then opened and the head rotated through the balance of the revolution to engage both end portions between the jaws between the clamp and the axis.

  • Patent number: 4785730
Abstract: A baling machine according to the invention has a frame having walls defining an elongated compaction chamber having a front end provided with a transversely open intake to which a stream of crop is fed substantially continuously. At least one compacting member is periodically displaced in the chamber between a front position forward of the intake and a back position rearward of the intake by an appropriate drive so as to rearwardly compact crop in the chamber. A plurality of pushers are each displaceable between an advanced position projecting into the chamber and only partially blocking the intake and a retracted position substantially out of the chamber by a linkage that advances the pushers into their advanced position only when the member is rearward of the intake and of the pushers. Thus advance of the pushers into the advanced position immediately after movement of the compacting member rearward past the pushers parts the stream of crop between the pushers and compacting member.
