  • Patent number: 9533644
Abstract: A system for detecting when a vehicle occupant exits the vehicle is disclosed. The system includes a sensor device is configured to measure an acceleration of the vehicle along one direction or accelerations of the vehicle along several directions and to make available a time-dependent signal(s) that represents the acceleration(s). The system also includes an evaluation device configured to evaluate the time-dependent signal(s) in a way to ascertain whether the signal(s) contains a sequence of acceleration values characteristic of the occupant exiting the vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 30, 2014
Date of Patent: January 3, 2017
Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLC
    Inventors: Mario Kasper, Christian Steinert
  • Patent number: 9211851
Abstract: A method is provided for eliminating an electrical short circuit that can be caused by a filamentary tin crystal in an electronics assembly in particular of a motor vehicle. The method includes, but is not limited to providing the electronics assembly, that includes, but is not limited to electrical components with connectors and conductor paths for connecting the components. The components have configurable inputs and outputs. At least two of the inputs and outputs of the electrical components are configured so as to form an input connector and an output connector so that in the event of the electrical short circuit caused by the filamentary tin crystal, a short circuit current flows between the input connector and the output connector, which short circuit current is high enough to destroy the filamentary tin crystal.

  • Publication number: 20120216031
Abstract: A method for the configuration of the generation and storage of output data, e.g., logging outputs, in a computer system may include the following sequential steps: (a) operating a computer system in a first operating mode wherein first output data are created which are stored in a first output directory; (b) creating one or more specified second output directories; and (c) automatically shifting from the first operating mode to a second operating mode immediately after creating the second output directory, wherein different second output data are created in the second operating mode compared to the first output data. A computer system, an electromechanical device, an operating system, and/or a data carrier may also be provided for performing such method.

  • Patent number: 7849415
Abstract: A communication apparatus is disclosed. The apparatus has an input/output (I/O) controller and a processor hosting a number of applications. The I/O controller responds to messages encoded according to a defined markup language. The applications communicate using the structure of the defined markup language.

  • Patent number: 7039629
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for inputting data into a system. In order to make it easier for users to input data, the invention provides that, in response to an input by a user, one or more terms which are as appropriate as possible for this input are determined as identified terms, that a confidence value is defined for each of these identified terms, and that the terms associated with an input are dealt with further, taking account of their confidence values.
