  • Patent number: 5493851
Abstract: With a limited separating spacing immediately upstream of a mowing implement rotating in a horizontal plane, a lawnmower has an upward extraction implement rotating in the same direction as the advance direction about a horizontal transverse axis and which is located in a common casing, but in a separate casing chamber. The upward extraction implement is disengagingly driven by means of a gear by the drive motor of the mowing implement and is essentially located between the front wheels, which are vertically adjustable for the joint setting of the working height of the two implements. Thus, it is possible to in each case separately and also jointly and simultaneously work with the two implements, so that numerous use possibilities exist.

  • Patent number: 5226599
Abstract: A flush sprinkler has a sprinkler unit raisable and lowerable in hydraulic manner in a shaft and, several nozzle units, which, as required, can be switched into a sprinkling state with an upper nozzle selecting handle and whose nozzle jets can be modified independently by a jet spreading member adjustable with an associated jet adjusting handle. There are also rings for varying a spray spreading angle as a function of size and position. The handles are raisable and lowerable with the sprinkler unit and therefore easily accessible. For cleaning the bearing of the sprinkler unit, an automatically valve-controlled flushing device is provided. For the reliable draining of the sprinkler, a drain valve is provided directly in the water flow and its body is clipped into a valve bore of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 5224795
Abstract: A moisture sensing device (2) operating according to the tensiometer principle which in the case of complete drying out emits the same signal as on reaching the maximum moisture content, in the case of complete drying out emits a signal corresponding to that with the minimum, set moisture content. A drying out prevention means (40) provided for this operates with the same contactor (24) and is operated by the same control member (18) as the sensing device (2) in normal operation. The switching point for the drying out prevention means (40) can be adjusted by means of an adjusting device (48). However, the water supply is switched on by the signal emitted on drying out.

  • Patent number: 5052622
Abstract: In a sprinkler (1), the water distributors (10) for supplying the spray nozzles (13, 14, 15) is formed by a separate main channel (15) inserted in a spray nozzle casing (2) and having relatively small flow cross-sections compared with the casing cross-sections, which is also constructed in one piece with the spray nozzles (13, 14, 15), so that the spray nozzle casing (2) does not have to be used for water distribution purposes and can instead merely serve as a support casing. Of the spray nozzles arranged in a row, those which are located at the end of the row can be individually manually disconnected with separate check valves (36), so that in simple manner it is possible to adjust the width of the exiting water curtain within certain limits.

  • Patent number: 4905903
Abstract: A rotor (11) is provided with a plurality of uniformly circumferentially distributed, radially projecting, tubular nozzle supports (3), which in each case carry a nozzle head (4) at the end. Each nozzle head (4) is circumferentially provided with several differently constructed nozzle units (6, 7, 8) with in each case a plurality of discharge nozzles (9) and in the manner of a turret indexing head is so rotatable about a control axis (30) with respect to the associated nozzle carrier (3), that any selected one of its nozzle units (6, 7, 8) can be brought into the operating position connected to a water supply. This offers numerous possibilities for adjusting the sprinkling pattern.

  • Patent number: 4673307
Abstract: A washing brush contains a brush body with a central opening, that engages a cylindrical projection, which is positioned in the vicinity of the edge of a cover. The cover is in one piece with a gripping member, which can be connected to a water-carrying member. In the center of the cover and the brush body is provided an annular locking member, which passes through the cover within the liquid-carrying area in the form of a push button. By depressing the push button, it is possible to release the angular locking member between the gripping member and the brush body.

  • Patent number: 4671311
Abstract: An admixer for delivering soluble additives to flowing liquids containing a valve with a rotary valve body and a container for receiving the additive in tablet form located in the extension of the valve body. The valve body contains an outer channel guide which can be made to coincide with the valve inlet port and a tubular water guide leading through the interior of the valve body.

  • Patent number: 4639018
Abstract: A joint for a water-carrying pipe system, e.g. for a garden spray, has a joint shoulder with a disk-like part for each pipe end to be connected. The two disk parts are arranged on either side of the hose passed centrally through the joint. On either side of the joint, the hose is connected to the pipe ends in that it is passed through an opening, whose internal diameter is somewhat smaller than the external diameter of the hose. Thus, the hose engages flat on the openings of the pipe ends, so that this in itself leads to a liquid-tight seal.

  • Patent number: 4572235
Abstract: A device for adding a solid additive to a liquid has a liquid inlet, a liquid outlet and a receiving container for the solid additive in the form of a tablet or bar. The tablet or bar is hollow, being shaped like a cylindrical ring. The liquid is moved axially past the inner surface and outer surface of the cylindrical ring, and during wearing away of additive material, there is a reduction in the size of the outer surface and a corresponding increase in the size of the inner surface. Therefore, the overall surface area remains constant, which leads to constant admixing. Preferably, an inner tube spaced from the inner surfaces of the additive discharges liquid for flow across the inner and outer surfaces in the same direction.
