  • Publication number: 20020011538
Abstract: The method for producing cheeses of the random winding type, wherein the workstations of an automatic cheese winder comprise a winding device with a yarn guide drum and a creel, both supported in an axially shiftable relation to each other, the creel holding the cheese in a rotatable manner and the yarn guide drum driving the cheese through frictional engagement, a ribbon disturbance device and an edge displacement device. The ribbon disturbance device causes a slippage by a defined adjustment of the bearing pressure of the cheese on the yarn guide drum. Relative movements between the yarn guide drum and the creel are initiated in the area of ribbon winding zones which counteract a stroke change caused by the ribbon disturbance during the winding of the yarn onto the cheese.

  • Patent number: 6340128
Abstract: A tensile yarn force sensor (7) has a measuring member (17), with which the tensile force of a traveling yarn (1) is detected as a function of the measurable pressure the yarn (1) exerts on the measuring member (17) during winding onto a cheese (2) at the work station of a multi-station textile machine, e.g., a winding machine or a combined spinning/winding machine. At preselectable intervals, a control device (11) actuates cutting of the traveling yarn (1), and triggers the performance of a zero compensation at the measuring member (17) thereby relieved of the yarn pressure, whereby external influences on the measured result are sufficiently compensated by the zero compensation, even if the chronological sequence of bobbin changes, yarn breaks or cleaning cuts triggered by imperfections in the yarn alone do not offer a sufficient opportunity for performing the required zero compensations.

  • Publication number: 20010045488
Abstract: A bobbin-winding device (28) for a cheese-producing textile machine with a pivotably seated creel (18) for holding a cheese (11), and a damping device (29), which can be acted on magnetically and is connected with the creel (18). The damping device (29) has a movable, electrically conductive component (30), which is at least indirectly connected with the creel (18) and is arranged such that the movably seated component (30) intersects the magnetic field of a stationarily arranged magnet system (32), preferably a permanent magnet system, in a contactless manner.

  • Patent number: 6311919
Abstract: A yarn guide imparts a traversing motion to a yarn being delivered to a rotationally driven takeup bobbin in a textile yarn winding operation to create a cross-wound bobbin, or cheese. The yarn guide includes a fork-like yarn guide pivoted about a pivot axis substantially perpendicular to the axis of the takeup bobbin, and an electromagnetic mechanism for driving the guide. The electromagnetic mechanism includes an air gap, a plurality of magnets disposed along the air gap, a plurality of yokes and at least one electrical coil extending into and moveable along the air gap with the traversing yarn guide. The magnets are disposed along the air gap and generate magnetic field lines which extend in a substantially perpendicular direction through the air gap.

  • Patent number: 6283400
Abstract: In a multi-station cheese-producing textile machine (1) for rewinding delivery bobbins (4) of large volume, each work position (2) has a manipulating and transport installation (3) by which delivery bobbins (4) are transferred from a loading position (I) to a winding position (III). Each manipulating and transporting arrangement (3) has a horizontally arranged transport unit (5), and an essentially vertically arranged transport unit (6). Transport elements (9′, 9″) for receiving delivery bobbins (4, 4′, etc.) are arranged on the transport units (5, 6) in a definitively shiftable manner for transfer between one transport unit (5) and the other transport unit (6).

  • Publication number: 20010017331
Abstract: An apparatus for controlling the tension of a traveling yarn includes a rake tensioner having stationary and displaceable yarn tensioning elements in engagement with the traveling yarn, and an electrical coil to which electrical current is supplied by a regulating device. The displaceable yarn tensioning elements and the electrical coil are disposed on a common pivot lever. The electrical coil is pivotable in an air gap through which magnetic field lines pass. The tension of the traveling yarn is controlled as a function of the current supplied to the electrical coil. The present invention, thusly, improves the control of the tension of the traveling yarn in spinning or bobbin winding machines.

  • Patent number: 6206320
Abstract: A method for operating a cheese-producing textile machine which produces cheeses of the “random winding” type, wherein the contact pressure of the cheese on the yarn guiding cylinder is reduced and the cheese is simultaneously charged with a braking torque for preventing pattern windings. The angular velocity w of the cheese (4) is continuously determined and processed in a control device (18) such that, when or shortly prior to reaching a so-called pattern winding zone (BWZ), the angular velocity w1 determined by the diameter d1 of the cheese (4) is reduced by means of the definite adjustment of the contact pressure with which the cheese (4) rests on the yarn guiding cylinder (3), to an angular velocity w2 which lies below the angular velocity wk of a cheese of the critical diameter dk, driven without slippage, which causes pattern winding.

  • Patent number: 6135383
Abstract: A device for controlling the creel (10) of a textile machine, which creel is pivotably seated by means of a pivot shaft to support a bobbin in frictional driven contact with a drive roller, is connected with a drive element for generating torque, e.g., a stepper motor or other device displaceable in angular steps or increments. A torque transducer is arranged between the creel and the drive element to convert the displacement of the drive element into a defined torque acting on the creel.

  • Patent number: 5877434
Abstract: A device for measuring the tension of a traveling yarn, comprising two spaced-apart stationary yarn guide elements defining a yarn travel path therebetween and a measuring member disposed between the yarn guide elements and projecting into the yarn travel path to engage the yarn and react to tension changes therein. Each of the stationary guide elements has a yarn guide groove, and the movable measuring member comprises a yarn engagement body extending linearly in a direction substantially perpendicular to the yarn travel path. The yarn engagement body includes a central area with a yarn guide contour essentially convexly rounded in the direction of the yarn travel path and merging at opposite lateral ends of the central area with end areas essentially convexly rounded both in the direction of the yarn travel path and substantially perpendicular thereto.

  • Patent number: 5738295
Abstract: In order to regulate the thread tension force of a traveling thread to a predeterminable set value, a comb tensioner with stationary thread guide elements and displaceable thread guide elements is provided, wherein the displaceable thread guide elements can be displaced by means of an electrodynamic drive mechanism which has a current-force-proportional characteristic curve and whose current supply is changed by a thread tension force regulating device, whereby the comb tensioner is employed both in a function as a thread tension force sensor and in a function as a thread tensioner.

  • Patent number: 5714693
Abstract: There are dynamic sensors whose plunger is seated in the center of at least one diaphragm. In certain instances of use it is not possible to protect the sensitive diaphragms against inappropriate handling. For example, dynamic sensors are employed in the textile industry as yarn tensile force sensors. The diaphragm in which the yarn feeler is seated, which faces the yarn travel path, cannot be protected by means of a cover against unintentional touching, since dust accumulations between the cover and the diaphragm can hamper its function. For protecting the diaphragm it is therefore proposed in accordance with the invention that a support body is disposed a short distance behind the diaphragm and that the side of the support body facing the diaphragm has a support contour which is essentially matched to the contour on the side of the diaphragm facing the support body.
