  • Patent number: 10962818
Abstract: A system for optimizing warm-up time of a display device may include a display device including a display substrate configured to display at least one image, the display substrate including a first display zone and at least one additional display zone. The display device may further include one or more heating layers including a first heating layer portion and at least one additional heating layer portion. The system may further include a controller configured to: generate a first electrical current within the first heating layer portion in order to increase a temperature of the first display zone of the display substrate; and generate at least one additional electrical current within the at least one additional heating layer portion in order to increase a temperature of the at least one additional display zone of the display substrate.

  • Patent number: 9441802
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to a dual mode backlight system and related method. The system may include a circuit card including a first array of lights for use in a day mode and a second array of lights for use in a night mode. The system may also include a heat sink which may be connected to the circuit card, and a light filter assembly. The light filter assembly may include a light filter plate and a plurality of light filters disposed within the light filter plate, where the light filters are configured for filtering light from the second array of lights. The system may also include a diffuse reflector connected to the light filter assembly, wherein the light filter assembly and diffuse reflector create an optical seal between the first array of lights and the second array of lights.

  • Patent number: 8613431
Abstract: A vibration isolator includes mounting members engaged with an isolator member. The isolator member contains a primary loop and a secondary loop, wherein the primary loop is the point of attachment to the mounting members. The secondary loop provides added symmetry between the compression rate and at least one of the roll spring rate and the shear spring rate of the isolator member. Features of the vibration isolator, such as the number of secondary loops, may be varied to achieve an isolator member with particular characteristics required for individual applications.

  • Patent number: 6789921
Abstract: An LED backlight system for dual mode operation with an NVIS system which utilizes non-edge lit night mode LED and a thermal conduction path from the day mode array of LEDS to a rearward disposed heat sink which cross the night mode array of LEDS. The system includes first and second LED arrays, the second array being located behind the first array. Light from the second LED array pass through a plurality of apertures located on the circuit card supporting the first array.

  • Patent number: 6336728
Abstract: A luminaire for back lighting a flat panel display in accordance with the present invention includes a fluorescent lamp having multiple lamp sections and a stack of optical components. A light guide is positioned between the fluorescent lamp and the stack of optical components. The light guide includes a first section extending across a width of the luminaire which separates the multiple lamp sections from the stack of optical components and which is adapted to substantially uniformly distribute light from the multiple lamp sections toward the stack of optical components. The light guide also includes multiple leg sections each adapted to protrude from the first section of the light guide to positions between adjacent lamp sections or to positions between one of the lamp sections and a side wall. The multiple leg sections of the light guide redirect light from the lamp sections into the first section of the light guide.
