  • Patent number: 8303034
Abstract: A seat assembly having a front and a back and adapted to be attached to a floor comprises a seat base and a seat back attached to the seat base, a seat belt mechanism attached to the seat base and free of the floor, a blast mitigation device attached to the seat base and adapted to be secured to the floor, wherein the blast mitigation device has a crumple zone which absorbs energy in the event of a blast, and a front impact dislocation resistance device mounted on the blast mitigation device with a pair of brackets. The front impact dislocation resistance device acts to resist separation of the seat base from the blast mitigation device.

  • Publication number: 20100066142
Abstract: A seat assembly comprises a seat back pivotably connected to a seat base, a tilt pan pivotably connected to the seat base, pivotable over a travel range between a lower position and a raised position, and a biasing device positioned between the tilt pan and the seat base, wherein the biasing device applies a biasing force to the tilt pan, biasing the tilt pan toward the raised position.

  • Publication number: 20100026065
Abstract: A seat assembly for a vehicle comprises a seat back and a seat base, wherein the seat back has a front side and a back and defines a pocket on the front side, a removable center panel is positioned in the center pocket, and a fastening assembly releasably secures the center panel to the front side and can also releasably secure the center panel to the back. Side bolsters are adapted to protect the kidney area and to provide lateral support of a seat occupant and are removably mounted on a mounting plate. The seat back is preferably formed as a generally curvo-planar member having a first curve radiused generally away from the seat base which defines a recess adapted to accommodate a B-beam or other structure of a vehicle, and a second curve radiused generally toward the seat base. The first curve is connected to the seat base and the second curve extends from the first curve.

  • Publication number: 20080018156
Abstract: A seat assembly for a vehicle comprises a seat having a seat belt assembly comprising two or more seat belts, a latch attached to each seat belt, and a corresponding buckle, wherein each buckle releasably engages each corresponding latch in a corresponding housing, and a release mechanism located remote from each housing, wherein actuation of the release mechanism disengages each seat belt latch from its corresponding buckle. For certain seat assemblies with at least three seat belts, the first seat belt and the second seat belt are mounted on the seat back, and the third seat belt is mounted free of the seat back, each of the three seat belt latches are capable of being disengaged independent of the other two seat belt latches, and each of the three seat belts has a retractor which pulls the corresponding seat belt to a retracted position when each buckle is disengaged from each corresponding latch.

  • Patent number: 5217181
Abstract: A sliding support of the type which mounts to and traverses along a vertical support structure. The sliding support is comprised of a track, a sliding structure which is vertically supported and a non-lubricating bearing material. The track defines an interior channel which is co-extensive to the distance traversed by the sliding support and an aperture, opposite the support structure, and in communication with the internal channel. The sliding structure has a slide means located in the channel and overlying the aperture. A horizontal support means is secured to the slide means and extends through the aperture. A vertical support means is secured to the horizontal support means and maintains the horizontal support means in a horizontal plane. The non-lubricated bearing material is positioned in the channel between the channel and the slide means.
