Abstract: Binder compositions comprising(A) copolymers having a molecular weight of from 1500 to 75000 of maleic acid anhydride with other selected olefinically unsaturated monomers,(B) organic polyamines with aldimine- and/or ketimine-blocked amino groups and, optionally, reaction products containing amide groups of (i) copolymers (A) with (ii) polyamines having free and blocked amino groups,a process for the production of these compositions by mixing components (A) and (B) and optionally partially blocked polyamines which react with a part of component (A) under formation of component (C) as well as the use of these binder compositions as binder in lacquers, coating compositions or sealing compounds.

Abstract: Compositions useful as a binder in lacquers and coating compositions and which are curable by moisture contain:(A) from 30 to 99 parts by weight of at least one copolymer of olefinically unsaturated compounds having a weight average molecular weight of from 1500 to 75,000 and containing chemically incorporated moieties capable of undergoing an addition reaction with amino groups, and(B) from 1 to 70 parts by weight of at least one organic polyamine containing blocked amino groups,wherein (i) the copolymers of component (A) contain both intramolecular carboxylic acid anhydride moieties and epoxide moieties in a chemically bound form, with the anhydride equivalent weight of the copolymers being from 393 to 9,800 and the epoxide equivalent weight of the copolymers from 568 to 14,200, and (ii) the binder composition contains from 0.2 to 8 anhydride and epoxide moieties for each blocked amino group.

Abstract: The present invention relates to new binder combinations comprising(A) 99-30 parts by weight of OH-functional graft copolymer resins prepared by copolymerization of a polybutadiene having a molecular weight of from 500 to 10000 and containing more than 30% of 1,2-vinyl structure with selected olefinically unsaturated monomers and(B) 1 to 70 parts by weight of a multifunctional crosslinking resin, preferably a polyisocyanate resin. The new binder combinations are suitable for preparing coatings having a very high level of elasticity and an excellent surface hardness.
