  • Patent number: 10733203
Abstract: The disclosure includes a method and a system for the distributed storing of information in a plant of process automation having a plurality of field devices, the method including: reading data in the form of data bit sequences, both from a first field device as well as also from at least a second field device, by a logic unit; combining at least a first data bit sequence read from the first field device with at least a second data bit sequence read from the second field device by means of an XOR function executed by the logic unit for forming a first check bit sequence, wherein in the check bit sequence each position corresponds to an XOR operation of the corresponding locations of the first and second data bit sequences; and storing the check bit sequence in a third field device.

  • Patent number: 10379722
Abstract: A method for creating a preference menu for a field device is described, wherein the field device can be parameterized and configured by means of a large number of parameters. The method involves compiling a device specification for the field device indicated by the customer for an order and, optionally, further customer specifications as a preference menu, which incorporates a selection of preferred parameters, which are particularly relevant to the respective device specification for the field device, and storing the preference menu with a selection of preferred parameters in a memory of the field device.

  • Patent number: 9811409
Abstract: A method for maintaining the functional ability of a field device of automation technology, wherein the method comprises the following steps: monitoring the field device for at least one achieved parameter change (?nx), wherein the parameter change (?nx) converts an old parameter set (nx-1) into a new parameter set (nx), storing all parameter changes (?nx) achieved in the field device in a parameter change history, monitoring the field device for an occurring malfunction (F); and, performing a remediation measure, wherein the parameter change history and/or a parameter to malfunction, linking element is accessed for remediating the malfunction occurring in the field device.

  • Patent number: 8554966
Abstract: A method for data exchange via a bus system, wherein an amount of data determined for data exchange is composed of a plurality of data packets, which data packets are to be transmitted in a predetermined sequence from a second participant of the bus system to a first participant of the bus system, wherein, for data exchange, a first data query is sent from the first participant to the second participant, and wherein, as a reply to the first data query, a first data packet is sent from the second participant to the first participant. Especially after the first participant has received the first data packet, a second data query is sent from the first participant to the second participant via the bus system, and as a reply to the second data query, a second data packet is sent from the second participant to the first participant. The second data packet is either the first data packet or a data packet following the first data packet in the predetermined sequence.

  • Publication number: 20120093024
Abstract: A method for ascertaining a transmissible telegram data length in a HART® fieldbus system. The method comprises the following steps: transmitting a test telegram between a master and a slave via the HART® fieldbus system, wherein the test telegram has a predetermined test data length; checking by the receiver of the test telegram whether the latter was received in its entirety; and determining whether this test data length is transmissible based on the result of the check.

  • Publication number: 20110252169
Abstract: Method for data exchange via a bus system (BS), wherein an amount of data determined for data exchange is composed of a plurality of data packets, which data packets are to be transmitted in a predetermined sequence from a second participant (P2) of the bus system (BS) to a first participant (P1) of the bus system (BS), wherein, for data exchange, a first data query is sent from the first participant (P1) to the second participant (P2), wherein, as a reply to the first data query, a first data packet is sent from the second participant (P2) to the first participant (P1), wherein, especially after the first participant (P1) has received the first data packet, a second data query is sent from the first participant (P1) to the second participant (P2) via the bus system (BS), wherein, as a reply to the second data query, a second data packet is sent from the second participant (P2) to the first participant (P1), wherein the second data packet is either the first data packet or a data packet following the first
