  • Patent number: 8656894
Abstract: A gas intake device for letting gases into an inlet volume of a cylinder head of a motor vehicle combustion engine includes a valve (10) for supplying the cylinder head with gas, this valve communicating with the inlet volume of the cylinder head directly and indirectly via a heat exchanger (14). The valve (10) and the heat exchanger (14) are mounted on a plate (21) intended to be mounted directly on the cylinder head. The device is compact and relatively insensitive to vibration.

Date of Patent: February 25, 2014
Assignees: Valeo Systemes de Controle Moteur, Volkswagen AG
Inventors: Samuel Leroux, Mathieu Lallemant, Arnold Rimpau, Christian Westphal

  • Patent number: 5570615
Abstract: To balance varying moments and reduce vibrations in the drive train of a motor vehicle, three flywheel masses and a clutch are provided in a common housing. Two flywheel masses are connected by springs to provide a dual-mass flywheel for reducing vibrations which can be transmitted into the transmission from the crankshaft and the third flywheel mass is connected to the first flywheel mass by planet gears mounted in fixed relation to the housing so that the direction of rotation of the third flywheel mass is opposite to the direction of rotation of the crankshaft.

  • Patent number: 5564379
Abstract: An arrangement for balancing varying moments in a motor vehicle includes an internal combustion engine, an attached transmission, a secondary shaft coupled to the crankshaft of the engine and extending into the transmission and rotating at a higher speed than the crankshaft, a shift clutch on the secondary shaft, and a flywheel and starter ring gear on the secondary shaft providing balancing masses. The moments of inertia of the balancing masses and of the shift clutch, on the one hand, and of the inertial masses associated with the crankshaft, on the other hand, are identical when the reduction gear ratio between the crankshaft and secondary shaft is taken into account.
