  • Publication number: 20070162765
Abstract: The invention relates to a scintillation layer (20) for a PET-detector. The scintillation layer (20) consists of a plurality of scintillation elements (21) that are joined together in a practically gapless way and that are oriented towards the centre of curvature (24). Depending on the form of the scintillation layer (20), the scintillation elements (21) may have for example the form of a truncated wedge or pyramid.

  • Publication number: 20070130515
Abstract: A system (30) for displaying a subset of images from an image data set, in particular for medical applications such as MRI or CT scanning. The images are associated with three attributes with a respective range of values. The images on the display have values within a subrange of the respective range of values for two attributes and a value for the third attribute. The images are shown in a matrix. Each row of the matrix represents one value for the first attribute. Each column represents a value for the second attribute. All images on the display 34 have the same value for the third attribute. A user is enabled to scroll through the image data set by selecting other subranges for the first two attributes or by selecting another value for the third attribute of the images to display. The selecting of subranges is done by scrolling horizontal and vertical for the first and second attributes. The selecting of another value for a third attribute is done by scrolling substantially parallel to an imaginary z-axis.

  • Publication number: 20060251996
Abstract: Disclosed herein is multilayered sheet comprising a core layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer and an IR absorbing additive; wherein the IR absorbing additive is a metal oxide; and a first cap layer comprising a thermoplastic polymer and an electromagnetic radiation absorbing additive; wherein a surface of the first cap layer is disposed upon and in intimate contact with a surface of the core layer. Disclosed herein too is a method for manufacturing a multilayered sheet comprising melt blending a composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer and an IR absorbing additive to produce a core layer; melt blending a composition comprising a thermoplastic polymer and an ultraviolet radiation absorber to produce a first cap layer; combining the core layer with the first cap layer in such a manner that the cap layer is disposed upon and in intimate contact with a surface of the core layer.
