Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for detecting a gesture made via a display of a first computing device during display of a message comprising first media content, determining that the gesture triggers a second graphical user interface to respond to the message by opening a camera view to capture a second media content, and based on determining that the gesture triggers the second graphical user interface, causing the second graphical user interface to display on the display of the first computing device comprising the camera view. The systems and methods further provide for detecting capture of the second media content via the second graphical user interface comprising the camera view and sending a reply message comprising the second media content in response to the first message.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for displaying widgets. In some aspects, criteria for ranking widgets may be dynamically evaluated based on conditions associated with each widget. In some aspects, the conditions may consider a time or location of an event a social network user is scheduled to attend, and a relation to that time and location to a current time and/or current user location. Evaluation of the conditions may contribute to the determination of weights for each of the respective widgets, with the ranking based on the weights. Widgets with the highest rank may be invoked, and selectively displayed on an electronic display. Multiple possible parameter values for the displayed widgets may also be dynamically ranked and selected values applied when invoking the widget.

Abstract: Systems, devices, methods, instructions stored on media, and other embodiments for a camera interface are described. One embodiment is a method of providing audio input feedback during content capture using a camera, which can involve initiating capture of a piece of content in response to a capture input touch action received at a camera interface on a touchscreen display of the computing device and then processing data from a microphone of the computing device to identify an audio stream associated with the piece of content. An audio quality score is determined from the audio stream, and a feedback signal is displayed on the touchscreen display of the computing device while the capture input touch action is ongoing and associated with capture of the piece of content.

Abstract: Systems, devices, methods, instructions stored on media, and other embodiments for a camera interface are described. A standardized modular camera interface may be presented with context elements based on a target interface used to initiate presentation of the camera interface, and with customized actions for creating and sending content, as well as returning to the target interface. In some embodiments, the camera interface includes an audio quality feedback element that is displayed while content is being captured. Such an element can provide feedback on audio quality as the content is being captured. In various embodiments, shape or color displays and changes indicate varying audio quality conditions. Such indicators are, in some embodiments, generated by processing audio stream segments in a machine learning model to generate an audio quality score used to generate the feedback element.
