  • Publication number: 20230265293
Abstract: A long-lasting coating composition that comprises a metal-modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (mCNPs) ingredient selected from a group consisting of predominantly 3+ surface charge and predominantly 4+ surface charge. The m is an antimicrobial promoting metal. The coating composition includes a paint, where the mCNPs ingredient has a weight percent loading less than about 1 weight % in a mixture including the paint that is a durable adhesive coating once cured. The cured paint has a strong bond with the surface to which it is adhered.

  • Publication number: 20230138286
Abstract: A dental resin composition that includes a dental resin. The composition includes metal-modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (mCNPs) having a predominantly 3+ cerium surface charge and in a range of about 3-25 nm in size and mixed in an amount that is in a range of about 0.01 to 0.1 weight percentage of a mixture having the dental resin and the mCNPs. The m is an antimicrobial promoting metal that is non-ionizing. The mCNPs effectuate release directed hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) in an oral cavity that is then used against bacteria in the oral cavity to prevent local acidification of a tooth on which a therapeutically effect amount of the mixture is applied and cured. The dental resin composition includes one of an acrylic-based polymer resin, a methyl methacrylate-based resin, photopolimerisable resin composite, and urethane dimethacrylate-based dental resin.

  • Publication number: 20230137248
Abstract: A therapeutic article of manufacture that includes a body having fibers treated with a mixture including metal-modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (mCNPs) and one or more of a polymeric binder, a dispersant and a stabilizer. The mCNPs have a predominant 3+ surface charge and in a range of about 3-35 nanometers (nm) in size. The mCNPs are mixed in an amount that is in a range of about 0.01 to 0.1 weight percentage of the mixture having the mCNPs and the one or more of a polymeric binder, a dispersant and a stabilizer. The metal (m) is an antimicrobial promoting metal that is non-ionizing. A method is also provided that promotes wound healing and/or antimicrobial infection control with a barrier of the therapeutic article of manufacture.

  • Publication number: 20230133694
Abstract: A touch screen display that includes a touch screen user interface having a plurality of layers that includes a top surface layer. The display includes a coating composition coating the top surface layer. The coating composition includes metal-modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (mCNPs) having a predominantly 3+ cerium surface charge and in a range of about 3-30 nm in size and in an amount that is in a range of about 1 weight percentage of a mixture having a binder and the mCNPs and m is an antimicrobial promoting metal that is non-ionizing. The touch screen display is incorporated into various machines or electronic devices. The coating composition forms a self-disinfecting surface that is optically transparent.

  • Publication number: 20230137084
Abstract: A wound healing composition is provided that includes a tissue adhesive or epithelial tissue healing agent and metal-modified cerium oxide nanoparticles (mCNPs). The nCNPs have a predominant 3+ surface charge and are in a range of about 3-35 nanometers (nm) in size and mixed in an amount that is in a range of about 0.01 to 0.1 weight percentage of a mixture having the tissue adhesive or epithelial tissue healing agent and the mCNPs. The metal (m) is a stable metallic metal with antimicrobial properties and non-ionizing. The mCNPs includes AgCNP2. A method is provided that uses the healing composition to treat a wound or epithelial tissue. The composition can be used to treat the skin or eye and/or subcutaneous tissue.

  • Patent number: 10437083
Abstract: A mask array apparatus includes a monolithic structure that includes a substrate layer transmissive for at least a portion of an infrared wavelength band and an array of individually addressed pixel structures. Each pixel structure is in stacked relation above or below the substrate layer, and includes at least one micro-plate heating element layer, circuitry, and at least one phase change material (PCM) element. The heating element layer is transmissive for the wavelength band, and has switchable on and off states configured to produce temperature changes. The circuitry is configured to individually address the heating element layer, separately from heating element layers in other pixel structures, to switch the heating element layer between the on and off states. The PCM is in stacked relation above or below the heating element layer and configured to change transmissive states in the wavelength band in response to the temperature changes.
