Patent number: 12060170Abstract: Systems, methods, computer-readable medium, vehicles, and engines provided herein include or implement flexible engine monitoring features. In one aspect, a user-modifiable file containing selected parameters is uploaded to a vehicle having a propulsion system, such as an engine. A computing device associated with the engine generates, without modifying reporting software or any other software, a parameter reporting list that includes the selected parameters. During operation, parameter values for the selected parameters are recorded. In another aspect, a data query is transmitted to an aerial vehicle while in-flight. The data query includes a user-modifiable file that contains selected parameters for which parameter values are to be recorded. A computing device associated with the engine generates, without modifying reporting software or any other software, a parameter reporting list that includes the selected parameters.Type: GrantFiled: October 1, 2021Date of Patent: August 13, 2024Assignee: General Electric CompanyInventors: Philip Taylor Smith, Jr., Christina Marie Britton, Jeffrey Charles Siefke, Laurence James Stoate, Nana Katherine Noel

Patent number: 8466896Abstract: A selective input system and method are provided which track the motion of a pointing device over a region or area. The pointing device can be a touchpad, a mouse, a pen, or any device capable of providing two or three-dimensional location. The region or area is preferably augmented with a printed or actual keyboard/pad. Alternatively, a representation of the location of the pointing device over a virtual keyboard/pad can be dynamically shown on an associated display. The system identifies selections of items or characters by detecting parameters of motion of the pointing device, such as length of motion, a change in direction, a change in velocity, and or a lack of motion at locations that correspond to features on the keyboard/pad. The input system is preferably coupled to a text disambiguation system such as a T9® or Sloppytype™ system, to improve the accuracy and usability of the input system.Type: GrantFiled: July 18, 2012Date of Patent: June 18, 2013Assignee: Tegic Communications, Inc.Inventors: James Stephanick, Christina James, Ethan R. Bradford, Michael R. Longé

Patent number: 7636083Abstract: A method and apparatus for facilitating text input for network applications, such as, for example, wireless applications, are described. Multiple input signals are received from a user, each input signal corresponding to a key within a user input interface and further representing Latin, e.g. English, language phonetic equivalents of at least one language character including a language character intended by the user to form a word construct in a language. Each input signal is further used to generate at least one proposed language character. At least one proposed word construct is further formed in the language using the at least one proposed language character. Finally, the at least one proposed word construct is displayed for the user on a display screen.Type: GrantFiled: February 16, 2005Date of Patent: December 22, 2009Assignee: Tegic Communications, Inc.Inventors: Ann Naomi Aoki, Pim Van Meurs, Christina James

Patent number: 7580829Abstract: The invention provides a process for selecting and ordering one or more sets of linguistic objects. The invention orders a current list of items for selection that comprises a first list of one or more items of a first language and a second list of one or more items of a second language, the current list of items being displayed in an order based on the first language having a priority over the second language. In response to a user selection of one item from the second list, the invention changes a priority for ordering a subsequent list of items to order the subsequent list of items based on the second language having a priority over the first language.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2005Date of Patent: August 25, 2009Assignee: Tegic Communications, Inc.Inventors: Christina James, Mark Brighton, Lisa Nathan, Ethan Bradford, David Kay
