Abstract: A computational method for determining a location and an amount of a transition metal M in surface facets of a Pt—M alloy using a density functional theory includes receiving a particle size and a surface facet distribution of the Pt—M alloy and a total concentration of M in the Pt—M alloy; calculating a total number of M atoms in the Pt—M alloy based on the particle size and the surface facet distribution of the Pt—M alloy and the total concentration of M in the Pt—M alloy; and predicting a mixing energy between Pt and at least one of the total number of M atoms in a subsurface layer of each of the surface facets of the Pt—M alloy when Pt is mixed with the at least one of the total number of M atoms.

Abstract: Anti-PD-1/PD-L1 antibody conjugated nanoparticles and methods of treating cancer, including without limitation hepatocellular carcinoma, are provided. The conjugates comprise antibodies, e.g. antibody F(ab) fragments, covalently linked to nanopartides. The antibody conjugated nanoparticles provide high tumor-specific delivery by extending circulation time of the antibodies by increasing their geometry and removing the Fc portion, and minimizing off-target distribution and toxicity. In some embodiments the antibody conjugated nanoparticlesprovide for increased therapeutic efficacy, e.g. in decreased tumor growth, relative to unconjugated antibody, or relative to unconjugated F(ab) fragments of an antibody.

An ultrasound system is directed to expose a target region in a patient, to which a microbubble agent has been provided, to an ultrasound exposure sufficient to alter gene expressions in cells in the target region so as to induce an accumulation of ceramide in the cells.

Abstract: An Access Terminal (AT) profile for identifying data services subscribed to by a data-only (DO) AT or hybrid AT in data mode is stored within a data cellular network, such as a 1xEV DO cellular network. In one embodiment, the subscriber AT profile is stored in a home Access, Authentication and Accounting (AAA) server associated with a home Access Network (AN) of the AT. The subscriber AT profile stored in the home AAA server can be downloaded to the home AN at successful authentication. The current session record in the AN is expanded to include the subscriber profile. In another embodiment, when roaming in a visitor AN, the subscriber AT profile can be downloaded from the home AAA server to the visitor AAA server, prior to downloading the subscriber AT profile to the visiting AN.
