  • Publication number: 20230392949
Abstract: The subject technology provides for route identification and clustering for real-time mapping. Various clustering techniques can identify groupings of relevant prior routes that can later be mapped against a current route. Filtering and matching techniques can be applied to identify and cluster prior routes. Tracked activity can also be compared against applicable prior activities to provide movement metrics and real-time comparisons between current and one or more recorded activities.

  • Publication number: 20230358845
Abstract: Methods, non-transitory machine-readable mediums, and system to provide location services are described. In an embodiment, a method provides receiving at least two position fixes for a trajectory of an electronic device, where the at least two position fixes are obtained intermittently, matching the at least two position fixes to points on a path indicated in map data, and computing a distance for the trajectory using distance information using the map data.

  • Publication number: 20220390238
Abstract: The subject technology provides for visualizing a route traversed by a user during a movement event by periodically obtaining position information data from a receiver of a navigation system during a movement event. A path traversed by a user of a device that includes the receiver during the movement event is estimated based on the position information data. One or more previously mapped features within a proximity of the estimated path on a map are determined. The estimated path is matched to the map based on the previously mapped features to obtain a map-matched path. A display device is caused to render the map-matched path on an image of the map.

  • Publication number: 20220201429
Abstract: Embodiments described herein provide for an electronic device comprising a wireless processor coupled with a wireless radio, memory to store instructions, and one or more processors to execute the instructions. The one or more processors, based on the instructions, are to scan for a beacon advertisement using the wireless processor, store the beacon and a timestamp in a beacon advertisement buffer in response to detection of the beacon via the wireless processor, correlate a beacon advertisement with stored location data to determine a location estimate for a device associated with the beacon advertisement, encrypt the location estimate for the beacon advertisement using a beacon identifier broadcast with the beacon identifier, and transmit a hash of the beacon identifier and an encrypted location estimate for the beacon advertisement to a device locator server.

  • Publication number: 20210396619
Abstract: Described herein are techniques to enable a mobile device to perform multi-source estimation of an altitude for a location. A baseline altitude may be determined at ground level for a location and used to calibrate a barometric pressure sensor on the mobile device. The calibrated barometric pressure sensor can then estimate changes in altitude relative to ground level based on detected pressure differentials, allowing a relative altitude to ground to be determined. Baseline calibration for the barometric sensor calibration can be performed to determine an ambient ground-level barometric pressure.

  • Patent number: 11109192
Abstract: A device implementing a system for estimating device location includes at least one processor configured to estimate a first position of a device based on a first set of parameters, the first set of parameters derived from first sensor data obtained on the device, the first set of parameters corresponding to device motion. The at least one processor is configured to estimate a second position of a user of the device based on a second set of parameters, the second set of parameters derived from second sensor data obtained on the device, the second set of parameters corresponding to user motion. Estimating the first and second positions is constrained by a predefined relationship between the device motion and the user motion. The at least one processor is configured to provide at least one of the first position of the device or the second position of the user.
