  • Patent number: 4821760
Abstract: An electropneumatic converter is provided with a voice coil having a vane directly connected to the coil. The vane and coil assembly is attached to a spring and resiliently supported by the spring for movement relative a nozzle outlet in response to dc input signals applied to the coil.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 28, 1984
Date of Patent: April 18, 1989
Assignee: The Babcock & Wilcox Company
Inventors: Christine B. Barnes, Thomas E. Martin, Frank E. Nardis
  • Patent number: 4630631
Abstract: A pneumatic servo assembly including a back pressure nozzle and an electric motor operating a flat spiral cam variably restricting the nozzle. A nozzle clamp exerts a drag on the cam so that a constant pneumatic output is maintained if an electrical failure occurs.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 20, 1986
Date of Patent: December 23, 1986
Assignee: The Babcock & Wilcox Company
    Inventor: Christine B. Barnes
  • Patent number: 4610263
Abstract: A pneumatic servo assembly (20) is provided for an electro-pneumatic control system (10) having closed loop control of a D.C. motor (12) operated from an error signal (56) developed from an electrical set point signal (4) and a pneumatic feedback signal (44). The feedback signal (44) is made compatible by a pressure transducer (26) monitoring the pressure output signal (22) of the pneumatic servo assembly (20) and establishing an electrical signal indicative thereof which is scaled, zeroed, and amplified by an amplifier unit (46).
