  • Publication number: 20020025524
Abstract: Disclosed is an Aspergillus fumigatus N-myristoyltransferase gene and its use in identifying antifungal agents, for example.
    Type: Application
    Filed: May 15, 2001
    Publication date: February 28, 2002
Applicant: Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a Delaware corporation
Inventors: W. James Cook, Christine E. Bulawa
  • Patent number: 6251955
Abstract: Methods of detecting inhibitors of fungal pathgenicity are disclosed. These methods are based on the discovery that pathogenicity is diminished when chitin synthase III is inhibited. The inhibitors of fungal pathogenicity are detected with mutant strains of S. cerevisiae or other mutant fungal strains, whose mutation causes diminished growth of the fungus when combined with the inhibition of chitin synthase III.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 13, 1998
Date of Patent: June 26, 2001
    Assignee: Millennium Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
    Inventor: Christine E. Bulawa

  • Patent number: 5614377
Abstract: Methods of detecting inhibitors of fungal pathogenicity are disclosed. These methods are based on the discovery that pathogenicity is diminished when chitin synthase III is inhibited. The inhibitors of fungal pathogenicity are detected with mutant strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae or other mutant fungal strains, whose mutation causes diminished growth of the fungus when combined with the inhibition of chitin synthase III.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 28, 1994
Date of Patent: March 25, 1997
    Assignee: Myco Pharmaceuticals, Incorporated
