Publication number: 20260023427Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for enabling quick interactions with a user's frequent contacts from a wrist-wearable device. The method includes displaying, at a wrist-wearable device, a user interface including a plurality of representations of contacts. The plurality of representations of contacts includes a first representation of a first contact that is associated with an image-sharing application, and a second representation of a second contact that is associated with a fitness application that allows a user of the wrist-wearable device to compare performance of a physical activity against at least the second contact. The method includes, responsive to an input selecting the first representation of the first contact, causing activation of an imaging device for capturing an image. The method includes responsive to another input, capturing an image using the imaging device and causing the image to be sent to the first contact via the image-sharing application.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 30, 2025Publication date: January 22, 2026Inventors: Willy Huang, Yana Azova, Christine Eun, Paul Hamilton

Publication number: 20250224848Abstract: A method of gradually revealing a hidden user-interface feature in accordance with performance of a self-care activity is disclosed. The method includes, while a user of an electronic device has performed less than a first threshold amount of a self-care activity, displaying a user interface without displaying a hidden user-interface feature. In accordance with a determination that the user has performed more than the first threshold amount of the self-care activity, the method also includes revealing a first portion of the hidden user-interface feature. In accordance with a determination that the user has performed more than a second threshold amount of the self-care activity, the second threshold amount being greater than the first threshold amount, the method additionally includes: continuing to display the first portion of the hidden user-interface feature, and revealing a second portion of the hidden user-interface feature within the user interface.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2025Publication date: July 10, 2025Inventors: Willy Huang, Abhishek Doshi, George Liang, Keito Uchiyama, Allan Velzy, Ian Taylor Cavazos Brooks, Michael Fan, Vicki Chang, John Matthew Delacruz, Mengnan Shen, Tanner Wirig Rhodes, Swapna Joshi, James Matthew Grichnik, Yifan Geoffrey Wang, Andrew Valko, David Sven Woodland, Jade Moana Palomino, John Henry Trollman, JR., Marc Biondolillo, Peter Wesley Bristol, William Lott, Christine Eun

Patent number: 10006823Abstract: The distance between microscale electrodes can be determined from microdischarge current and/or capacitance distribution among a plurality of electrodes. A microdischarge-based pressure sensor includes a reference pair of electrodes on a body of the sensor and a sensing pair of electrodes. One of the electrodes of the sensing pair is on a diaphragm of the sensor so that the distance between the sensing pair of electrodes changes with diaphragm movement, while the distance between the reference pair does not. Plasma and current distribution within a microdischarge chamber of the sensor is sensitive to very small diaphragm deflections. Pressure sensors can be fabricated smaller than ever before, with useful signals from 50 micron diaphragms spaced only 3 microns from the sensor body. The microdischarge-based sensor is capable of operating in harsh environments and can be fabricated along-side similarly configured capacitive sensors.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 2014Date of Patent: June 26, 2018Assignee: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGANInventors: Yogesh Gianchandani, Christine Eun, Xin Luo, Mark Kushner, Zhongmin Xiong, Jun-Chieh Wang

Publication number: 20060264175Abstract: Disclosed herein are systems and devices capable of wireless communications based on RF transmissions from discharges. A transmitting device includes a discharge generator having a plurality of electrodes spaced to support generation of the discharge, and a circuit coupled to the plurality of spaced electrodes to control a supply for the discharge generator. In some embodiments, controlling the supply for the discharge generator modifies a property of the discharge to modulate the RF transmission such that the resulting RF transmission is indicative of the device state or other information to be communicated.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 17, 2005Publication date: November 23, 2006Applicant: THE REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGANInventors: Yogesh Gianchandani, Ranjit Gharpurey, Christine Eun
