Abstract: The present embodiments relate to initiating an electronic group conversation or “poll.” According to certain aspects, the group conversation or poll may have an associated topic, a set of choices for the topic, and a set of participants, which may be specified by a user or dynamically determined based on various contextual factors. An electronic device may display the group conversation by indicating the topic and the set of participants, and displaying the set of choices as a set of graphical, interactive user-interface objects. The set of participants may view the group conversation to make selections and input messages, among other functionalities.
