  • Patent number: 7170734
Abstract: The invention relates to an air ionization device comprising a high voltage line which can be connected to an AC voltage power source and point electrodes which are coupled capacitively to the high voltage line for generating a corona discharge.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 19, 2002

  • Patent number: 6991607
Abstract: A process and a device are provided for determining the proportion of a component of the air exhaled by a breathing living being that is characteristic of the metabolic function of such living being. The invention relates to a process for determination of a first component Aa,1 in the air exhaled by a patient that is characteristic of the metabolic function of the patient such as carbon dioxide (CO2) or oxygen (O2), where the exhaled air having at least two components (i=1, 2, . . . ) each having a proportion Aa,i. The molecular weights M; and the adiabatic coefficients ki of the components are known. The process measures the velocity of sound vS in the exhaled air, and the portion Ai,1 of the first component in the exhaled air is calculated by use of the measured velocity, at a temperature T of the exhaled air. The proportion of the component is determined by the equation MG/kG=R×T/(vs2), where MG=sum(Aa,i×Mi), i=1, 2, . . .

Abstract: The invention relates to a process for determination of a first component Aa,1 in the air exhaled by a breathing living being characteristic of the metabolic function of such breathing living being, in particular the portion of carbon dioxide (CO2) or oxygen (O2), the exhaled air having at least two components (i=1, 2, . . . ) each having a portion Aa,i, and the molecular weights Mi and the adiabatic coefficients ki of the components being known, characterized in that the velocity of sound vs in the exhaled air is measured, and in that the portion Aa,1 of the first component in the exhaled air is calculated by use of the measured velocity of sound vs, the temperature T of the exhaled air, and the relation MG/kG=R×T/(Vs2), the statement MG=sum(Aa,i×Mi), i=1, 2, . . . , applying to the molecular weight MG of the exhaled air, and the statement 1/(1−kG)=sum(Aa,i/(1−ki)), i=1, 2, . . .

  • Patent number: 6606512
Abstract: An arrangement for fixing a medical-technical sensor, particularly a pulsoximeter sensor, to a patient's body part includes a carrier for supporting a sensor and a longitudinal opening for receiving the body part. The carrier includes a foam material part elastically deformable for the fixing. The deformation provides a force-accumulation arrangement. The medical-technical sensor for measuring physiological data can be combined with such arrangement. The sensor includes optical electronic measuring parts arranged on the carrier.
