  • Publication number: 20170085484
Abstract: A method performed by a network element in a communication network comprises inspecting traffic between a radio device and the communication network. The method also comprises, based on said inspecting, determining that the traffic is part of a TCP subflow of an MPTCP connection. The method also comprises, based on said inspecting, calculating a ratio of how much data is transmitted in the subflow in relation to the total amount of data transmitted in the MPTCP connection over a predetermined time period. The method also comprises observing that the calculated ratio is below a reference ratio. The method also comprises, based on said observing, performing an action for preventing congestion in the communication network.

  • Publication number: 20170086224
Abstract: There is provided access to a communications channel in a wireless communications network. Stations (STAs) associated with an access point (AP) are grouped in at least two groups of STAs, each group being associated with a minimum transmission power level needed by the AP to communicate with the STAs in that group. A first time interval is allocated for a first group of STAs associated with highest minimum transmission power to access the communications channel concurrently with a third time interval being allocated by another AP for a third group of STAs associated with lowest minimum transmission power level needed by said another AP to communicate with the third group of STAs to access the communications channel.

  • Publication number: 20160044037
Abstract: The embodiments herein relate to a method in an AAA server (103) for enabling authorization of a wireless device (101) to access a first network (100a) while simultaneously accessing a second network (100b). The AAA server (103) retrieves information identifying a current SGSN (108) currently serving the wireless device (101) in the second network (100b). When the AAA server (103) retrieves authorization information for the wireless device's (101) access to the first network (100a) from a HLR (105), the AAA server (103) indicates the current SGSN (108) as a new SGSN to the HLR (105). • Publication number: 20150249950
Abstract: There is provided a method, performed by a network node, for steering of access between cells. The method comprises receiving (1301), from user equipment, a report indicating failure to access a cell, also referred to as a rejecting cell, due to internal reasons of another network node, also referred to as a rejecting network node, serving the rejecting cell. The method also comprises steering (1302) the access of the user equipment between cells by modifying at least one offloading parameter and/or threshold based on the report indicating failure to access the rejecting cell due to internal reasons of the rejecting network node serving the rejecting cell. With this new type of report the network can modify offloading parameter(s) and/or threshold(s) in a more suitable way since the network has more information available.

  • Patent number: 8576694
Abstract: An apparatus, method, and system for dynamically assigning orthogonal codes to different information signals communicated between a Node B and user equipment in a cellular radio communication system in which a fixed number of codes are allocated between dedicated transport channels (DCHs) and high speed downlink shared channels (HS-DSCHs). A radio controller (RNC) allocates a minimum number of codes for HS-DSCH physical channels (HS-PDSCH codes) to the Node B. The Node B determines HS-PDSCH codes that are not currently being utilized and allocates HS-PDSCH codes from the unused codes without having to communicate with the RNC. When the additional HS-PDSCH codes are needed for DCH codes, the Node B reallocates the codes for DCH purposes without reducing the number of HS-PDSCH codes below the allocated minimum.
