    Abstract: An apparatus to conduct an inspection of printed impressions placed on a conveyor transport system which is synchronized with an optical collection device that captures and digitizes the image of the impressions. The images are then reformatted and analyzed for defects using a reference image. The images are also filtered and converted to an LCH representation which further inspected using the CIE methodology. The final results of the inspection are presented to the operator in real time on a display monitor.
