  • Patent number: 10296675
Abstract: A simulation system to determine an optimal trajectory path for a robot with an attached implement includes a trajectory simulator which provides a simulated trajectory path for an implement, an implement model database which comprises motion data of the implement, and a logger that associates a time stamp of the implement's motion during the simulated trajectory path to generate logger data. A profile is determined by the logger data received from the logger which identifies implement motion that exceeds predetermined thresholds, and a tuner adjusts the simulated trajectory path so as to reduce the number of times predetermined thresholds are exceeded.

  • Publication number: 20150209960
Abstract: A system for tuning robot trajectory to obtain optimal material thickness on an object includes at least one robot adapted to dispense material, a controller connected to the robot to control movement of the robot and to dispense material in relation to the object. A tuner is connected to the controller to iteratively simulate dispensing of the material on the object based on movement of the robot, and to adjust dispensing of the material and movement of the robot to obtain a desired material thickness on the object based on the iterative simulations. A related method to optimize dispensing material on an object includes simulating a path trajectory of a material dispensing robot in relation to an object is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 8291105
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for identifying inaccurate time measurements in a local area network. The local area network comprises a sending device (2), such as a time client, a destination device (3), such as a timeserver, and a switching device and/or a store-and-forward device (6). A time request packet (4) is rejected if it arrives at the time client or timeserver within a given or calculated minimum distance from the preceding network packet. The time request packet (4) is also rejected if it falls outside a set of calculated error limits based on a set of estimates. Those estimates are kept in the time client memory and updated according to a given set of rules.

  • Patent number: 7450538
Abstract: A method is proposed for operating a system according to TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) with a multiplicity of wireless sensors and/or actuators as nodes (S.1 . . . S.n) and a base station (BS), said system being installed in a machine or installation, such as industrial robots or an automated manufacturing or production unit, whereby cyclical TDMA data transmission blocks are transmitted and each TDMA data transmission block is composed of consecutive time slots. Each time slot is allocated to a specific node. The uplink signals (UL.1 . . . UL.n) can be transmitted from the different nodes (S.1 . . . S.n) to the base station (BS) simultaneously on two, three or more different frequencies (f1, f2, f3) whereas the. downlink signals (DL) are transmitted from the base station (BSA) to the different nodes (S.1 . . . S.n) on only one frequency, which differs from the uplink frequencies. The time slots and the different uplink frequencies of the different nodes are defined once and are thereafter retained.

  • Publication number: 20060185809
Abstract: One or more actuator driven devices on a sheet forming machine receive power and engage in bi-didrectional communications with one or more quality control systems either by having no physically connected cables to transmit the power to the actuators and no physically connected cables used for the bi-directional communications; or contactless power and communication on a power cable; or a cable connected from the power source to the actuators to provide both power and bi-directional communications; or power is provided to the actuators by a cable and the bi-directional communications are wireless.

  • Publication number: 20020114307
Abstract: A method and a device for wireless information transmission between a base station radiating a broadband radio-frequency signal preferably generated in accordance with the Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum (DSSS) method and a multiplicity of subscribers are described. The subscribers are located at different distances from the base station. The subscribers code the received radio-frequency signal in accordance with the code division multiple access (CDMA) method according to the information to be transmitted, modulate it and reflect it back to the base station. The base station effecting a signal correlation and demodulation, and the base station automatically compensates for different propagation losses between the subscribers located at different distances from the base station in that the correlation function, on the one hand, and the propagation loss, on the other hand, are linked to one another in an inverse relationship.
