  • Patent number: 7607716
Abstract: A vehicle door assembly has an inner sheet metal layer (16) which presents a substantially U-shaped structure. The inner sheet metal layer includes a latch mounting surface and at least one hinge mounting surface. An outer, substantially planar, sheet metal layer (14) is attached to the inner sheet metal layer to form a cavity. A structural reinforcement member (30) is disposed in the cavity to reinforce the inner and outer sheet metal layers, including reinforcements (44A, B and 28 A, B) for the latch and hinge mounting surfaces. A carrier assembly (60) is mounted to the structural reinforcement member, covering the U-shaped area, and a trim component (50) covers the carrier assembly. By incorporating the structural door member, the thickness of the inner and outer sheet metal layers can be reduced, for a net weight and reduced material cost savings.

  • Patent number: 7596908
Abstract: A driver (4, 5) of a window lift mechanism to simplify subsequent adjustment of a window pane. The driver (4, 5) includes a flat receiving fork (7) having first and second sides (9, 10). A screw (14) extends through the receiving fork (7) for pulling the first and second sides (9, 10) together. In the vicinity of the axis of the screw (14), the first side (9) includes a number of openings (19). A pressure piece (13), which can be operated from outside of the first side (9), protrudes through the openings (19) into a gap (8) between the first and second sides (9, 10). The pressure piece (13) can be displaced in a substantially parallel direction to the axis of the screw (14). A threaded nut (11) contacts the pressure piece (13) to operate the pressure piece (13).

  • Patent number: 7467494
Abstract: A device for adjusting a window regulator in a vehicle door, having a profiled base element (110) positionable on a lower section of the vehicle door and provided with a first elongate hole (111b) in its lower side and a second elongate hole (111a) in its upper side. A slider (112) slidingly moves within the base element (110) and includes a hole (113) aligned with the first elongate hole (111b). A screw extends through the hole (113) in the slider and the first elongate hole (111b) aligned therewith. A bolt (116) is fixedly attachable to the window regulator extending through the second elongate hole (111a) and includes a threaded rod engaging the threading of screw (114). The screw (114) can be turned from a first position, in which it does not engage the slider (112), to a second position, in which it engages the slider (112) with the first screw end (114b). The device provides for simple compensation of tolerances in connection with the vehicle door and for the window regulator.

  • Publication number: 20060174543
Abstract: To simplify subsequent adjustment of a window pane in the drivers (4) of a window lift mechanism, it is suggested to design this mechanism such that clamping is possible without accessing the screw that is inserted during assembly. This is achieved on a driver (4, 5) with a flat receiving fork (7) and a screw (14) for pulling the sides (9, 10) of the receiving fork (7) together in that one side (9) in the vicinity of the axis of the screw (14) comprises a number of openings (19), through which a pressure piece (13) that can be operated from the outside of the side (9) protrudes into the gap (8) between the sides (9, 10). The pressure piece (13) can preferably be displaced in a substantially parallel direction to the axis of the screw (14). Furthermore, it may be provided to design the operation of the pressure piece (13) in a self-locking manner, for example, in that the pressure piece (13) can be operated by means of contact with a threaded nut (11).

  • Patent number: 6152646
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for fixing a plastic housing of an adjuster device for motor vehicles at a fastening point formed by a through hole in a supporting part of the vehicle body. A second plastic housing is mounted on the side of the through hole remote from the plastic housing whereby one of the two plastic housings has a stud which projects through the through hole into the recess with which the other of the two plastic housings is provided and which encloses the stud and whereby the two plastic housings are connected together so that the supporting part is clamped in between same.
