  • Patent number: 10522845
Abstract: A method of regulating thermal dissipation from a vehicle battery pack is provided in which a by-pass valve is used to control the amount of battery pack coolant either passing through, or by-passing, a heat exchanger, where the coolant passing through the heat exchanger is cooled by a refrigeration system. The vehicle's HVAC system is controlled to insure that HVAC operation does not compromise maintaining the battery pack within an acceptable range of temperatures.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 22, 2013
Date of Patent: December 31, 2019
    Assignee: Tesla, Inc.
Inventors: Curt Raymond O'Donnell, Christoph Eisenbarth, Stefan Forrest Campbell, Jacob Edward Oberlin, Andrew David Baglino, Vincent George Johnston, Donald Paul Yuhasz

  • Patent number: 5592573
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a data acquisition stage for acquiring data representative of several spatially separated regions of a sample. The apparatus also includes data storage means for storing reference data corresponding to the sample data. The two sets of data are compiled and analyzed to determine if the sample is shifted from a nominal position.

  • Patent number: 5530562
Abstract: An image acquisition system includes a transport mechanism for transporting sheets of objects past a sensor. The sensor scans the objects and generates data streams which are scaled by a multiplier to compensate for the speed variation of the transport mechanism. At speeds much lower than a nominal speed, the scanning rate of the sensor is increased to generate several data streams for each scanned line, which are then combined in a single speed corrected signal stream for further processing.

  • Patent number: 5394486
Abstract: An image processing system with self monitoring includes an image acquisition module for acquiring data corresponding to an image, and one or more image processing modules. The acquisition module interleaves the variable (and therefore unpredictable) image data with diagnostic data to provide known diagnostic data. The image processing modules process the diagnostic data together with the image data to monitor system performance.
