  • Publication number: 20170281874
Abstract: A drug delivery device (1) is provided comprising a housing (4) comprising a distal end and a proximal end and a cartridge (3) adapted and arranged to contain at least one dose of a drug (16), a bung (5) being movably arranged within the cartridge (3). In an initial state of the device (1), the bung (5) is arranged in a proximal end position with respect to the cartridge (3). The device (1) further comprises a piston rod (9) adapted and arranged to move the bung (5) in the distal direction with respect to the cartridge (3) for delivering a dose of the drug (16).

In an initial state of the device, the bung is arranged in a proximal end position with respect to the cartridge. The device further comprises a piston rod adapted and arranged to move the bung in the distal direction with respect to the cartridge for delivering a dose of the drug. The device further comprises a mechanism operable such that, after a dose delivery operation was completed, the piston rod is moved into the proximal direction with respect to the bung by a back off distance (D), wherein in the initial state, a distance between a distal end of the piston rod and a proximal end of the bung is greater than zero, with the distance between the piston rod and the bung in the initial state being defined by the back off distance (D).

  • Patent number: 9694143
Abstract: Described is a needle assembly attachment and removal device comprising a case having a base and a longitudinal axis (L), a carriage axially movable with the case from a first position to a second position, a carrier rotatably coupled to the carriage and adapted to hold a needle assembly, and a gearing arrangement rotatably coupled to the carriage and adapted to rotate the carrier in a first rotational direction as the carriage moves from the first position to the second position and in a second rotational direction as the carriage moves from the second position to the first position.

  • Patent number: 9084852
Abstract: The present invention relates to a piston rod assembly for a drug delivery device, comprising: a piston rod adapted to be operably engaged with a piston of a cartridge containing a medicament, at least one adjusting member displaceably disposed at the piston rod with respect to the piston rod's long axis, and being interconnected with a distal end section of the piston rod, and at least one interlock means adapted to interact with the adjusting member and/or with the piston rod for mutually locking in position the adjusting member and the piston rod in an arbitrary relative position in order to compensate for tolerances of manufacture and/or of assembly.
