  • Publication number: 20090205322
Abstract: An exhaust gas aftertreatment system, and a method for exhaust gas purification, has a first oxidation catalyst device, a NOx catalyst device for removing nitrogen from the exhaust gas, a device for actively increasing an exhaust gas temperature with at least one second oxidation catalyst device, and a device for removing particles. The devices are arranged one behind the other in the flow direction of the exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine, so that the exhaust gas flows through them. A respective operating temperature of the NOx catalyst device and of the device for removing particles can be set independently of an exhaust gas temperature at an outlet of the internal combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20090139209
Abstract: In a metering apparatus for the metered introduction of a first medium into an exhaust gas system of an internal combustion engine, which includes a conditioning apparatus in which also a second medium is introduced via a dispensing apparatus which is connected to the conditioning apparatus and via which the first medium and the second medium are introduced into the exhaust gas system, a supply unit for supplying a third medium, which is different from the second medium in its physical properties and/or its chemical composition, is connected to the conditioning apparatus for cleaning of the conditioning apparatus and the dispensing apparatus from constituent parts of the first medium by the third medium or a mixture of the second and the third medium.

  • Patent number: 6145493
Abstract: A fuel guidance system is provided for an internal combustion engine having in-line cylinders, inlet bores for connector pumps, high-pressure lines between the connector pumps and associated injection valves, as well as a fuel supply line that carries the fuel and communicates with the connector pumps. In the case of connector pumps having a solenoid-valve control, whose control valve controls the flow connection between the supply line and the high-pressure line, the supply line runs as a continuous fuel supply in the cylinder housing, intersecting the inlet bores, or being tangent to them, or running separately outside the cylinder housing. At least one further supply line that branches from the supply line leads to the low-pressure side of the control valve.

  • Patent number: 6068236
Abstract: An electromagnetically operable valve has a valve seat and a valve body. A valve stem forms a guide part provided with a shoulder, by way of which guide part the valve is axially movably guided in a valve guide. A valve disk which, in the closing position of the valve, while forming a hydraulically effective seat diameter, rests against the valve seat. An electromagnetic adjusting device and a spring guide the valve into respective end positions. A control space with a fuel pressure bore is formed between a shoulder of the guide part and the valve disk, and hydraulic forces in the control space act upon the shoulder and the valve disk.

  • Patent number: 6009855
Abstract: In a fuel injection system for a multicylinder internal combustion engine having cylinders arranged in a line, an injector with an injector mounting body and an injector nozzle supported on each cylinder and a high pressure fuel supply line extending along the injector mounting bodies, the high pressure fuel supply line is firmly connected to the injector mounting bodies to form a unitary structure through which fuel is directly supplied from the high pressure fuel supply line to the fuel injectors and a high pressure fuel supply pump is connected directly to the fuel supply line for supplying fuel under pressure thereto.
