  • Patent number: 8208471
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for releasing local data contents for an IP-based data access, wherein an evaluation unit (2) evaluates a first IP connection (IP-V1) and extracts an IP destination address (IP:B) and an authorisation verification generating unit (3) generates an authorisation verification (BN) for the data access to the local storage unit (3). An authorisation message generating unit (4) generates an authorisation message on the basis of the authorisation verification (BN) and the extracted IP destination address (IP:B). A trigger unit (5) triggers a transmission process of the generated authorisation message over a second IP connection (IP-V2) which is different from the first IP connection (IP-V1).

  • Patent number: 6959010
Abstract: In the novel method for data transmission via a radio interface in a radio communications system, at least two data channels are assigned to one connection. Each data channel can be distinguished by an individual spread code. In addition to data symbols, midambles with known symbols are transmitted in a data channel. The number of midambles being used for the connection is less than the number of data channels. The method is particularly suitable for use in TD/CDMA 3rd generation mobile radio networks.

  • Publication number: 20050227734
Abstract: Method for the reduction of radiation in a radio telecommunication system, together with associated base station and associated mobile terminal device. The present invention relates to a method for the reduction of radiation in a radio telecommunication system which radiates at least a radio synchronization signal for the purpose of synchronizing a base station with at least one mobile terminal device, in which initially the number of mobile terminal devices registered with the base station is detected (S1), after which the number of virtual continuous receive status flags is set (S2) and finally a comparison is made between the number of registered terminal devices and the number of virtual continuous receive status flags (S3), whereby the base station is switched into a quiescent operating state (S4) if the comparison determines that these numbers are the same, and otherwise the base station remains in a normal operating state (S5).

  • Publication number: 20050129190
Abstract: A method is provided for identifying a first subscriber of a telecommunication network, a receiving terminal for identifying a first subscriber of a telecommunication network, and a transmitting terminal. According to the inventive method, the identification of the first subscriber is carried out in such a manner that information of at least one type of information for identifying the first subscriber is output to at least one receiving terminal, whereby the output of information of the information type text is excluded on the at least one receiving terminal. This method enables identification capabilities to be integrated in a more diverse manner; in particular, multimedia representations are integrated during the identification of the first subscriber of the telecommunications network.

  • Publication number: 20050129250
Abstract: A virtual assistant is provided which outputs audible information to a user of a data terminal. A method is also provided for presenting audible information of a virtual assistant to the user of a data terminal. At least two electroacoustic converters are driven such that the virtual assistant can be spatially positioned by a data terminal use to achieve acoustic separation between the electroacoustic converters and an additional sound source.

  • Patent number: 6618595
Abstract: In a wireless telecommunication system, for example a DECT/GAP system, under the control jurisdiction of a first telecommunication apparatus of the telecommunication system control mechanisms (i.e. messages, information elements and procedures) of a standard protocol (e.g. a protocol according to the DECT/GAP standard) are activated for the execution of a special protocol, which serve for the exchange of additional items of information between the first telecommunication apparatus and a second telecommunication apparatus of the telecommunication system.

  • Patent number: 6606314
Abstract: In a method for data transmission in a radio communications system, a radio interface is subdivided into time slots for a transmission of bursts. In this case, the data are transmitted in data channels in a time slot, in which data channels can be distinguished by use of individual spread codes. A finite burst containing data symbols and at least one midamble with known symbols is used for data transmission in a data channel. At least one parameter is determined for the traffic conditions of the radio interface, and a ratio of a length of the midamble and a data part with data symbols is adjusted depending on the traffic conditions. The method is suitable in particular for use in 3rd generation TD/CDMA mobile radio networks.

  • Patent number: 6317424
Abstract: In an antenna diversity base station of a DECT cordless telephone, at least one antenna change is carried out, for example on the basis of field strength measurements (FSM1, FSM2), in order to improve the “antenna diversity” during the reception of a DECT radio message, for example of a synchronization initiation word (E-SEW) of a synchronization field (SYF) to the DECT standard. As a result of the fact that the antenna change takes place during the reception of the synchronization initiation word (E-SEW), both optimum “antenna diversity” and interference-free transmission of wanted information contained in the radio message are possible in each transmission time slot of the DECT radio message.

  • Patent number: 6219563
Abstract: The radio area to be covered by the stationary radio transmission/reception device, for example of the base station of a cordless telephone, is illuminated by two or more directional antennas (3, 4) respectively covering a radio sub-area thereof, whereby that respective directional antenna in whose radio sub-area the mobile radio transmission/reception means, i.e., for example, the mobile part of the cordless telephone, is located is activated (antenna diversity). The method and apparatus can be advantageously utilized in cordless telephones.

  • Patent number: 5991613
Abstract: The method and arrangement is for controlling a radio receiver. The arrangement has a central processor (DECT-C), a device (RSSI-C) for measuring the field strength of received signals, a threshold value generator (TH-C) and two antennas (A1, A2). The central processor (DECT-C) carries out method steps configured in such a way that different procedures (P1, P2) are realized to activate one of a plurality of antennas (A1, A2) of the radio receiver as a function of measured field strength values (RSSI1) of received signals and as a function of overshooting or undershooting of a threshold value (TH0).
