  • Patent number: 11472541
Abstract: An autogyro includes an autorotation rotor and an instrument panel that includes comprising one or both of a display unit and a control unit. The instrument panel has a viewing window formed by a recess in the instrument panel located to expand a field of view for an autogyro pilot. A pilot seat is arranged in front of the instrument panel and is positioned centrally in a transverse direction of the autogyro in front of the instrument panel.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 12, 2018
Date of Patent: October 18, 2022
    Assignee: Fraundorfer Aeronautics AG
    Inventor: Christoph Fraundorfer
  • Patent number: 11338913
Abstract: An autogyro rotor blade for generating lift by autorotation defines a root-side inner profile region, which has a first profile. The inner profile region has a tip-side main profile region, which has a second profile different from the first profile, and a profile depth curve that decreases monotonically in the longitudinal direction of the autogyro rotor blade from the region of the blade root in the direction of the blade tip. The autogyro rotor blade has a twist having a twist curve that decreases monotonically from the region of the blade root in the direction of the blade tip. The twist curve has a variable slope in the inner profile region and/or main profile region, and therefore the twist curve is concavely curved in this region.

  • Patent number: 10457387
Abstract: The invention related to an autogyro (1) comprising a body (2), a mast (3) arranged in the upper region of the body, a rotor (4) which is rotatably arranged in the region of the end of the body (3) and which can be put into autorotation by an air flow, a drivable propeller (6) which is arranged in the region of a rear body end (5) and which generates a propulsion of the autogyro (1), a guide mechanism (7) arranged behind a propeller (1), and at least one brace (8) which extends past the propeller in the longitudinal direction of the autogyro at a radial distance from the propeller (6) in an outwards direction and which connects the guide mechanism (7) to the body (2). According to the invention, the guide mechanism (7) has a guide mechanism protrusion (9) which is arranged coaxially to the rear body end (5) and which extends forwards from the guide mechanism (7) in the direction of the rear body end (5) at a distance therefrom.
