  • Patent number: 7508496
Abstract: What is disclosed is a method for driving a laser scanner, comprising a beam deflection system for a laser beam emitted by a laser light source, wherein a minimum distance to be observed is determined in dependence on the laser power of the laser light source. During the measurement the detected object distance is compared with this minimum distance, and the laser light source is deactivated and/or the laser power is reduced if the detected object distance is less than the minimum distance. There is moreover disclosed a laser scanner for implementing this method.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 27, 2005
Date of Patent: March 24, 2009
Assignee: Z+F Zoller & Froelich GmbH
Inventors: Markus Mettenleiter, Martin Breitner, Christoph Froehlich
  • Patent number: 7190465
Abstract: What is disclosed is a 3-D laser measurement system, including a mirror continuously rotatable about a rotation axis which extends, e.g., in parallel or coaxial with a measuring beam emitted by an optical emitter and impinging on the mirror.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6288777
Abstract: A system and method for determining at least one physical quantity by means of a relation between a transmission signal and a reception signal, wherein a transmitter emits the transmission signal having a predetermined frequency through a signal path for reception as the reception signal by a receiver. A reference signal generator generates a reference signal having a frequency which has a predetermined fixed relation to the frequency of the transmission signal. The reception signal is mixed with the reference signal to produce an intermediate frequency signal, which is filtered to isolate a difference signal, converted to a digital signal and then processed digitally to determine a phase and/or amplitude relation of the respective physical quantity to be determined. The transmission signal, the reference signal and the digital signal are generated in phase-locked relation using a clock signal derived from a main clock pulse of a master oscillator.
