Abstract: Curable mixtures based on(A) compounds containing 1,3-dioxolan-2-one groups, groups capable of reaction with isocyanate groups and, if appropriate, further groups,(B) polyisocyanates and/or aminoplast resins and(C) if appropriate, further curing compounds.The coatings obtainable from these mixtures are distinguished above all by rapid curing and by good solvent stability and good adhesive power.

Abstract: Polymers which contain urethane groups and are capable of being crosslinked by extraneous crosslinking agents, solutions thereof and aqueous dispersions thereof, prepared without the use of isocyanates by reacting polyamino compounds with polycarbonates and, if appropriate, reacting the reaction product further with polycarboxylic acids to give products having an acid number between 0 and 100, and, if appropriate, neutralizing the resulting products partly or completely by adding basic compounds, preferably organic bases, and, if appropriate, mixing the partly or completely neutralized products vigorously with an amount of water such that aqueous polymer dispersions having a solids content of up to 75% by weight, relative to the dispersion, are obtained.

Abstract: Polymerizable carbamoyloxyalkyldicarboxylic acid esters, carrying hydroxyl groups, of the general formula (I) ##STR1## in which R.sup.1 represents hydrogen or allyl or hydroxyalkyl having in each case 1 to 30 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical, R.sup.2 represents alkyl or hydroxyalkyl having in each case 1 to 30 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical or the radical ##STR2## subject to the proviso that R.sup.1 is hydrogen and x is an integer from 2 to 20, R.sup.3 represents linear or branched alkylene having 2 to 5 carbon atoms, R.sup.4 represents hydrogen or methyl and R.sup.5 represents hydroxyalkyl or hydroxyaminoalkyl having in each case 2 to 20 carbon atoms in the alkyl radical or an alkyl radical of this type which also contains ester and/or ether groups, and a process for their preparation.The esters according to the invention can be used for the preparation of copolymers.

Abstract: A water-dilutable binder for coatings based on reaction products of diene polymers and poly-unsaturated polyfunctional amidoamines, which comprises (a) a cyclorubber, (b) a polyfunctional amidoamine which has been added to component (a) and is derived from reaction with a monomeric unsaturated fatty acid free from conjugated double bonds but having 12 to 18 carbon atoms or from its oligomers, and (c) a polyisocyanate which is bonded to component (b) and whose isocyanate groups which are not bonded to component (b) are blocked, a process for its preparation and its use for paints and coatings.

Abstract: An unsaturated polyester suitable as a binder which comprises a reaction product of(A) an acid component comprising one or a mixture of .alpha.,.beta.-mono-olefinically unsaturated dicarboxylic acids or polycarboxylic acids free from polymerizable carbon-carbon multiple bonds or functional derivatives thereof,(B) a polyhydric alcohol,(C) a polycyclic compound containing a norbornane ring system and having one or more identical substituents selected from carboxyl, hydroxy and amino groups, and(D) an acrylic compound which is capable of condensing with at least one of components (A) to (C), i.e. a hydroxyalkyl ester of acrylic or methacrylic acid having up to 3 carbon atoms in the hydroxyalkyl groups, or -alkylol-acryl- or methacrylamides containing up to 4 carbon atoms in the alkylol group or mixtures thereof and a process of their preparation.
