  • Publication number: 20030144454
Abstract: The present invention relates to compositions comprising reaction products of a polyisocyanate with a polyester block copolymer and a process for the preparation thereof. These are suitable as a moisture-curing hot melt adhesive. The hot melt adhesive composition may optionally also comprise a reaction product of a polyisocyanate with a polyester polyol and/or a reaction product of a polyisocyanate with a polyether polyol.

  • Publication number: 20030045636
Abstract: The invention relates to compositions containing conversion products of a polyisocyanate with a polyester-polyether copolymer and a method for producing the same. Said compositions are suitable as a humidity-hardening hot-melt-type adhesive. The hot-melt-type adhesive composition can optionally also contain a conversion product of a polyisocyanate with a polyesterpolyol and/or a conversion product of a polyisocyanate with a polyetherpolyol. Such polyurethane hot-melt-type adhesive compositions are provided with good creep property and interfacial bonding values on synthetic materials and very high solidity values.

  • Patent number: 6261530
Abstract: A process for stabilizing a halogen-containing plastic against thermal or photochemical degradation by adding to the plastic an additive consisting essentially of cationic layer compounds corresponding to general formula (I): [M(II)xAl(OH)y](An−)z.mH2O  (I) where M(II) represents at least one divalent metal ion and An− represents an acid anion having the charge n−(n=1, 2 or 3) and 1<x<5, y>z, (y+nz)=2x+3 and 0<m<10, and wherein the cationic layer compounds have been prepared by adding alkali metal hydroxide to a water-containing mixture of at least one source of divalent metal ions M(II), one source of the anion An− and crystalline aluminum hydroxide in a quantity of 1 to 20 mole-%, based on aluminum hydroxide, heating the mixture for 10 to 240 minutes at a temperature of 100° C. to 240° C., and drying the mixture to form a powder without previous separation of the solid from the aqueous phase.

  • Patent number: 5802815
Abstract: A process for filling and self-sealing containers with molten materials is provided. The process comprises filling a container with a molten material and covering the surface of the molten material which is still at elevated temperature after filling with an insert consisting of a plastic film and a plastic disk. The plastic film faces the molten material and is larger than the plastic disk. The diameter of the plastic disk is slightly smaller than the internal diameter of said container.

  • Patent number: 5354877
Abstract: Mono-unsaturated fatty acids or their derivates are produced by hydrogenating poly-unaturated fatty acids or their derivates at 0.degree. to 150.degree. C., in a pressure range from 800 to 1500 hPa, with hydrogen and in the presence of a catalyst system that contains: a) a palladium salt and b) a carbonic acid ester, as well as, if necessary, c) a base for neutralizing the acids formed during the reduction of the palladium salt, d) water and/or a water-immiscible, inert solvent.

  • Patent number: 5312974
Abstract: The description is of a process for the production of light-colored lower alkane sulfonic acids, especially methane sulphonic acid, by reacting the corresponding alkyl halide with alkaline halides and obtaining the free alkane sulphonic acid. In the process of the invention, the reaction is performed as a liquid/liquid reaction at temperature not exceeding 120 degrees C., and at such high pressures that even the lower alkyl halide is in the liquid phase at the reaction temperature, the aqueous reaction mixture is reduced by water content of some 50% wt. at the most, the alkaline sulphonic acid is liberated from its alkaline salt by the addition of HCl, the solid salt phase still remaining in the reaction mixture is separated out and the free alkaline sulphonic acid is obtained from the liquid phase.
