  • Patent number: 7879122
Abstract: An air filter and fan device for a vehicle ventilation system is disclosed that, in direction of air flow, includes an air filter, an impeller, and a flow-off channel. A casing is provided that accommodates the impeller and the flow-off channel in an enclosing manner such that the impeller is established with double-suction, receiving air from the air filter from both a first side and a second side or the impeller.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 14, 2008
Date of Patent: February 1, 2011
    Assignee: Visteon Global Technologies, Inc.
Inventors: Gerald Richter, Christoph Malig, Olaf Degenhardt
  • Patent number: 7470177
Abstract: A device for control of the air flow rates into the instrument panel air outlets of a vehicle heating or air conditioning unit is described that is provided with a casing, with damper doors for both instrument panel side air outlets in the casing parts and at least one damper door for the instrument panel central air outlet in the casing part, whereby the damper doors are pivotably supported on one common shaft. Exactly one closing position is assigned to the damper doors in the first casing part, whereas several closing positions are assigned to the damper door in the second casing part continuously over a pivoting range of the shaft, whereby the closing position of the damper doors is arranged in the pivoting range of the damper door. This device enables separation and independent control of the air flow rates.

  • Publication number: 20080142207
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for tempering and ventilating of motor vehicles with an air inlet opening and an air outlet region, wherein air flows are distributed into different vehicle regions. The device is provided with a basic casing, through which a partition extends to divide the flow path of the air from the air inlet opening to the air outlet region into two flow paths. In one flow path, a waste heat exchanger is arranged to heat the air.

  • Patent number: 6894620
Abstract: A method of monitoring the service life of a filter (1) in a filter system equipped with a fan, in particular a filter (1) in an air conditioning system of a motor vehicle, the instantaneous air speed (21) preferably being measured on each startup of the system using a sensor (2, 20) downstream from the filter (1), compared to the reference air speed (R) from the unloaded filter (1), and transmitted to a service computer and/or indicated on a display, and the need to replace the filter being signaled when this value falls below a predetermined threshold or threshold range of the instantaneous air flow rate (21).
