  • Patent number: 10460181
Abstract: In order to process sensor data for a driver assistance system oriented towards the driver's comfort, sensor data that is sensed by a sensor device and describes objects is preprocessed such that a distinction is made between a driving zone and a non-driving zone, where the driving zone is designated as an object driving zone. The object driving zone is delimited by a boundary line. Since the sensor data is processed for a comfort-oriented driver assistance system, it does not have to describe the entire theoretical driving zone. Rather, the boundary line is used to delimit the driving zone within which the vehicle can normally be expected to drive. Based thereon, it is easy to determine an appropriate boundary line and significantly reduce the volume of data to be transmitted from the sensor device to a central control device of the comfort-oriented driver assistance system in order to describe the sensed objects.

  • Patent number: 9718470
Abstract: A driver assistance system for a motor vehicle has a controller within a speed and/or distance regulator, which controller is used for the regulation of the acceleration of the motor vehicle according to a setpoint acceleration. The driver assistance system also includes an input coupling unit for coupling an additional acceleration that can be predefined by the driver of the motor vehicle into the system.

  • Patent number: 9400494
Abstract: A communication device for a motor vehicle includes a first control unit (BDC), a second control unit (SAS), a control unit arrangement (SGA), a first data bus (SB), to which the first control unit (BDC) and the control unit arrangement (SGA) are connected for the exchange of data, as well as a second data bus (AB), to which the second control unit (SAS) and the control unit arrangement (SGA) are connected for the exchange of data. The control unit arrangement includes at least a first sensor control unit (SSG1) for controlling a first sensor and a second sensor control unit (SSG2) for controlling a second sensor. The first and the second sensor have mutually overlapping sensor acquisition ranges. The first and the second sensor control unit can exchange at least preprocessed sensor data by way of a third data bus (PB). The first and the second sensor control unit are constructed to be operated in a master-slave operation with respect to at least one functionality.

  • Publication number: 20080190681
Abstract: An operator control device, which is intended for a driver assistance system of a motor vehicle and which exhibits a controller for controlling the acceleration of the motor vehicle as a function of a setpoint acceleration/setpoint deceleration, includes acceleration operator control element for inputting an additional acceleration, which can be predefined by the driver of the motor vehicle and acts on the controller.
