  • Patent number: 9683140
Abstract: An adhesive bonding system joins flat webs when changing rolls of such webs. The adhesive bonding system comprises two adhesive tape boundary edges, and further comprises a top carrier layer and a bottom carrier layer, a flat connecting element that connects the two carrier layers to one another and is suitable for opening the connection under the conditions of a static or flying roll change. At least one of the boundary edges of the connecting element does not extend in a straight line, and a straight-line emphasis line is defined in relation to this boundary edge, the emphasis line of this boundary edge extends along a preferential direction, and this boundary edge has a multiplicity of regions lying on one side of its emphasis line and also a multiplicity of regions lying on the other side of its emphasis line.

  • Patent number: 9365377
Abstract: A splicing tape and a method of using such tape to equip a wound roll for flying splice. The tape includes a first and second carrier and two strips of laminating composition disposed between them, each strip joining the first carrier to the second carrier. The carriers have a first and a second layer of pressure-sensitive, laminating composition and a first and a second layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive. The strips of laminating composition are disposed such that they are not in direct contact with one another. They form a predetermined breakage point. The splicing tape is adhered to the roll such that part of the first layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive forms a first bonding area, the end region of the uppermost ply of the wound roll, and the second layer of pressure-sensitive adhesive forms a second bonding area to the roll, which is located partly below the first bonding area.

  • Patent number: 8545653
Abstract: In order to provide an adhesive tape for producing a joint during a static reel change between two flat web materials wound up onto reels, having a carrier and a self-adhesive compound, with which the exposure of the self-adhesive compound during the further processing of the webs bonded to each other is avoided, it is proposed that, in the self-adhesive compound, a gap be formed in the longitudinal direction of the adhesive tape, in order to form two self-adhesive compounds having a spacing (V), as viewed in the width of the adhesive tape. Furthermore, a corresponding method is proposed.
