    Abstract: A drive apparatus for a scroll centrifuge having a rotating drum and a scroll mounted coaxially therein has a drive motor associated with the drum and a scroll motor that is coupled to the scroll shaft via a gearbox whose housing is nonrotatably connected to the drum drive shaft. According to the invention, the housing of the gearbox for driving the scroll is rotatably mounted in a floor-mounted housing and has a hollow output shaft that is connected via a coupling to the hollow drum drive shaft.
