  • Publication number: 20160163131
Abstract: The disclosure relates to a sensor arrangement for a vehicle having at least one rotation-speed detection apparatus, which continuously detects a state variable and outputs said state variable to an evaluation and control unit which receives and evaluates signals which are output by a rotation-speed detection apparatus, wherein the evaluation and control unit carries out a first evaluation process with the detected state variable and ascertains a rotation speed of at least one vehicle wheel, the rim of said vehicle wheel being fastened to a corresponding wheel hub by means of wheel fastening means. According to the disclosure, the evaluation and control unit carries out a second evaluation process and identifies and monitors, on the basis of the continuously detected state variable, mechanical play between the vehicle wheel and the corresponding wheel hub in order to detect detached wheel fastening means.

  • Publication number: 20150353084
Abstract: A method for monitoring a setpoint trajectory of a vehicle, including the following: recording the surroundings of the vehicle, ascertaining a clearance based on the recorded surroundings and checking the setpoint trajectory for freedom from collision, based on the clearance, in order to ascertain whether traveling on the setpoint trajectory would result in a collision or not. Also described is a device for monitoring a setpoint trajectory of a vehicle and a related computer program.

  • Publication number: 20150331096
Abstract: Method for determining distances and relative velocities of simultaneously located objects using an FMCW radar, in which the frequency of a transmission signal is modulated in the form of periodically recurring ramps, the transmission signal is mixed with a received signal to form an intermediate frequency signal and, for determining the distance and/or the relative velocity of the objects, the change in the phase of the intermediate frequency signal is evaluated from one ramp to the next characterized in that the modulation pattern includes at least two ramps, which differ only by a fixed frequency offset and follow one another in a certain time interval, and an unambiguous approximate value is calculated for the object distance on the basis of the phase difference ?1??2 of the intermediate frequency signals for these two ramps.

  • Publication number: 20140193927
Abstract: The present invention pertains to the field of cancer prediction. Specifically, it relates to a method for predicting the risk of recurrence of bladder cancer in a subject after treatment of bladder cancer comprising the steps of determining the amount of at least one biomarker selected from the biomarkers shown in Table, and comparing the amount of said at least one biomarker with a reference amount for said at least one biomarker, whereby the risk of recurrence of bladder cancer is to be predicted. The present invention also contemplates a method for identifying a subject being in need of a further bladder cancer therapy. Encompassed are, furthermore, diagnostic devices and kits for carrying out said methods.

  • Publication number: 20130045884
Abstract: The present invention pertains to the field of cancer diagnosis. Specifically, it relates to a method for diagnosing pancreas cancer in a subject comprising the steps of determining in a sample of a subject suspected to suffer from pancreas cancer the amount of at least one biomarker selected from the biomarkers shown in Table 1 and comparing the said amount of the at least one biomarker with a reference, whereby pancreas cancer is to be diagnosed. The present invention also contemplates a method for identifying whether a subject is in need of a pancreas cancer therapy comprising the steps of the aforementioned methods and the further step of identifying a subject in need of a pancreas cancer therapy if said subject is to be diagnosed to suffer from pancreas cancer. Contemplated are, furthermore, diagnostic devices and kits for carrying out said methods.

  • Publication number: 20110281077
Abstract: The present invention concerns a process for preparing products having layers/films of silicon derivates comprising the following steps: a) Preparing a mould made of elastomeric material and having a plurality of grooves with mutual spacing in the range from 1 ?m to 1 mm; b) incubating the mould of step a) in a solution of silicateins in a range of temperatures from 2 to 10° C. and in a range of time from a few minutes to 103 hours; c) providing a target substrate of silicon or oxides thereof; d) transferring the silicateins from the mould to the said target substrate through soft lithography technique for a time period from a few seconds to 103 hours and removing the elastomeric mould; e) incubating the substrate with patterned silicateins of step d) in a solution of one or more precursors belonging to the class of silane compounds for a time period in a range from a few seconds to 103 hours in a temperature range from 2° C. to 25° C.

  • Patent number: 7942769
Abstract: The invention relates to a rail (16a) of a flexible drive, which rail (16a) is intended to guide a drawing means (2). A lubricant which is introduced into the rail (16a) via the lubricant channel (13) brings about a pressure gap (15) which is formed between the inner side of the drawing means (2) and a guide face (9) of the rail (16a). Direct contact of the drawing means with the rail (16a) is suppressed on account of the lubricant which is introduced into the pressure gap (15), which has a friction-reducing effect.

  • Patent number: 7728591
Abstract: A radio frequency coil includes a non-cylindrical conformal surface (62, 76) that substantially conforms with a magnetic resonance subject. A plurality of conductor loops (60, 71, 72, 73, 74) are disposed in or on the non-cylindrical conformal surface. The plurality of conductor loops are configured to produce a substantially uniform Bi field in the magnetic resonance subject responsive to energizing at a Bi frequency. Optionally, a plurality of load-compensating conductor loops (90) are disposed in or on a compensatory non-cylindrical conformal surface (62) that substantially conforms with a magnetic resonance subject. The plurality of load-compensating conductor loops are configured to produce a non-uniform Bi field that compensates for a loading Bi non-uniformity caused by the magnetic resonance subject. Moreover, the coil may comprise switching means for switching the coil between a first mode of operation (e.g. a volume transmit mode) and a second mode of operation (e.g. a phased array reception mode).
