  • Patent number: 6971414
Abstract: A flexible conduit includes a metal hose provided with a helical groove having a plurality of turns; a plastic jacket surrounding the metal hose and conforming to the helical groove thereof; a plastic inner hose received in the metal hose and having a projecting length portion extending beyond an end of the metal hose. The conduit further includes a plastic coupling part which surrounds the metal hose. The coupling part includes a cylindrical collar surrounding the projecting length portion and having a material-to-material bond therewith; and an overlapping portion adjoining the cylindrical collar and extending away therefrom. The overlapping portion surrounds the jacket and extends into the helical groove. The overlapping portion and the plastic jacket have a material-to-material bond with one another.

  • Patent number: 6729355
Abstract: A reinforced flexible hose, especially a shower hose, being comprised of a thin-walled reinforced inner hose, at least one outside outer hose, at least one helical support between the inner hose and the outer hose, and reinforcement bands which are oriented in the hose's axial direction radially outside the helical support; and the reinforcement bands being connected to neighboring elements of the hose. In order for the hose to have a high-gloss metallized appearance over essentially the entire surface and to be light and highly flexible and also not to fatigue or tear when it is frequently bent, the reinforcement bands are made of an essentially unstretchable, high-gloss metallized film. They are arranged in the area radially between a top side of the helical support and below an outside surface of the outside outer hose.

  • Patent number: 4526410
Abstract: In a plastic connector for hoses having a wall which is composed of an outer flexible tube, an inner flexible tube, and a helical cavity, which is located, hidden, between these flexible tubes, the connector is designed to be anchored to the wall of the hose, in that a run-out end of the connector, which end is likewise helical in shape, extends into the helical cavity. In order to obtain effective sealing of the helical cavity of the hose, in particular even when reinforcing threads are located on the inner flexible tube, the connector (2) extends, by means of an integrally moulded-on outer sleeve (8), over a portion of the outer flexible tube (3), and fits closely against the latter. An inner sleeve (9) of the connector extends outwards, beyond the outer sleeve, into the inner flexible tube (4), and is joined to the connector, at its connecting-profile, in a leak-proof manner, that is to say, it is joined, best of all, in an integral manner.

  • Patent number: 4495018
Abstract: Process of making a reinforced tube including extruding a thin walled tube, encircling the tube with a completely closed layer of helically extending strip coated with heat activatable adhesive material. The tube is then passed through a sizing die heated at its entrance to activate the adhesive while subjecting the tube to relatively low internal pressure to bond the tube to the layer of strips. The integrally connected tube and strips are then passed through pinch rolls which close the tube and maintain the pressure upstream from the rolls different from the downstream pressure. Further reinforcing strips and an outer sheath are thereafter provided.
