  • Patent number: 8196502
Abstract: The invention pertains to a device (1) for the rotative scoring of flat printed products in order to prepare a bending line, particularly in a brochure cover that is supplied in the form of a sheet (2), with said device featuring at least one pair of scoring tools (11.1, 11.2) that consists of a scoring knife (12) and an assigned scoring matrix (13), with the scoring tools (12, 13) being arranged on a first and a second scoring shaft (14.1, 14.2) that are arranged parallel to one another and driven in opposite directions, and with said device also featuring at least one pair of transport rollers (30) that is arranged axially adjacent to the pair of scoring tools (11.1, 11.2) and consists of a first and a second transport roller (31, 32) that effectively clamp the sheet (2) between one another with respect to its transport, wherein it is proposed that the first transport roller (31) is arranged on the first scoring shaft (14.

  • Patent number: 7467450
Abstract: A book block transport system with a plurality of book block clamps (1) each having a supporting frame (2) that is supported in guides and carries an inner clamping jaw (3) and a pivot frame (4) that is suspended on a shaft (6) of the supporting frame (2) extending parallel thereto for accommodating an outer clamping jaw (5). The pivoting movement for opening and closing the outer clamping jaw (5) is controlled by a cam track, with a spring element (13) that generates the clamping force between the inner and outer clamping jaws (3 and 5). A book stop catch (30, 40) is carried on the book block clamp (1) for aligning the book block supplied by an infeed device. In order to reliably and flawlessly transfer and align the book blocks supplied by an infeed device, the book stop catch (30, 40) is arranged on the book block clamp (1) such that it can be moved relative to the inner clamping jaw (3).

  • Patent number: 7367442
Abstract: A device (1) for transferring continuously transported printing products (2 a . . . g), e.g., book blocks, books or sheet stacks consisting of folded and/or non-folded sheets, from an essentially flat lying position into an upright position or vice versa by a conveyor (3) that is twisted about a longitudinal axis (9). A first transporter (3) with pushers (4) advances the printing products (2 c . . . f) during the transfer, and a second transporter (10 or 12) has support elements (11), on which the printing products (2 c . . . f) are at least partially supported or lie with their primary surface during the transfer. The invention allows a particularly careful transport of sensitive individual parts or partial products that may even consist of thin individual sheets on the bottom side. A narrow line of support provided by the support elements (11) suffices for this purpose, wherein this narrow line of support essentially acts upon the product (2c . . . f) in one line of action with the respective pusher (4).

  • Publication number: 20070209752
Abstract: A method and apparatus for feeding a cover (10, 11, 12, 13) in the production of perfect-bound or saddle-stitched books, brochures, magazines or similar printed products (14, 15) featuring an inner part (2) that consists of a collection of folded sections, layers and/or individual sheets and a cover (10, 11, 12, 13) that is placed around the inner part (2) and connected thereto. A roll (3) comprising a wound-up cover web (4) is supplied, the cover web (4) is unwound and a cover sheet (10, 11, 12, 13) with the desired format height is separated from the cover web (4, 8) and fed to the inner part (2) in order to be placed around the inner part and connected thereto. This allows a reliable and flawless feed of the covers to the inner parts, and the operating effort for the cover feed is reduced.
