  • Patent number: 10929666
Abstract: The present document describes a system and method for providing augmented reality interactions with printed media, whereby a user looking at a printed media (physical or electronic) with their portable computing device may view augmented reality interactions on their portable device to enrich the media being viewed. The method includes recognizing pages and using interaction capabilities offered atop the page once recognized. The system is also configured to perform an image recognition process which allows for a very quick detection of a preregistered image from the database which matches the image of the page viewed by the user in order to extract the assets associated with the prestored image and send them to the portable device for display.

  • Patent number: 10769247
Abstract: Method and system for allowing a famous entity to reach out to their audience/fans/the public with comments, explanations and corrections in response to stories/allegations published about them in the media without infringing copyrights of the media owners. Using their portable device, users/fans may take a picture/snapshot or even activate their camera feed over a published page (e.g. magazine/poster/banner, web page) which is by default a copyrighted material. The imaging device transforms a picture of the page into a digest representing a non-copyrighted format of the copyrighted page and sends the digest to a remote server. The server performs a search and comparison between the received digest and pre-stored digests for which a reply was provided by the famous entity (VIP). If a match exists, the server fetches the reply and sends it back to the portable device for rendering on the display device of the portable device.

  • Patent number: 10467812
Abstract: The present document describes a system and method for managing the display of assets associated with images captured during an AR experience to avoid congesting the display device of the portable device used for the AR experience. The method comprising capturing images of an object; receiving a plurality of assets associated with the object being captured from a remote server; detecting the POV from which the images were taken; selecting, from the plurality of assets, a first subset of assets associated with the POV; and displaying on the display device one or more assets pertaining to the first subset only. When the user changes the position from which the object is being captured, the device detects a second POV for the images captured and displays a second subset of assets different than the first subset. Whereby, existing assets disappear and new assets appear as the user changes positions or moves the device over the object being captured.
