  • Patent number: 8537025
Abstract: A portable electronic device comprises an antenna ANT connected to an integrated circuit CI, allowing the establishment by the integrated circuit of near-field contactless communications with an external system. The antenna comprises several windings E1, E2 linked together by current-conducting means. Each winding has its ends connected to connection terminals of a circuit. The antenna then comprises, at the minimum, a winding E1 connected to the terminals for connection to the integrated circuit CI able to establish contactless communications with an external system, and a winding E2 connected to the terminals for connection to a peripheral component CP1, which can comprise one or more circuits connected in series, and which is powered remotely by the antenna.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: October 30, 2009
Date of Patent: September 17, 2013
    Assignee: Oberthur Technologies
Inventors: Loic Le Garrec, Christophe Capitaine
