  • Patent number: 7691219
Abstract: A method and device for manufacturing a body, a device for implementing the method, and products obtained by the method. In the method, at least a first heated composite strip is introduced into at least one die, and at the same time, at least one molten material is introduced into the die in contact with the first composite strip, to obtain at least one second composite strip, and the second composite strip is wound around a support rotating about its axis.

  • Publication number: 20090169881
Abstract: A method for producing a rough elongate composite element, and a rough elongate composite element formed by the method. In the method, introduced simultaneously into a sheathing device are an essentially solid cord based on an organic material and reinforcing yarns as well as a mixture including a molten thermoplastic and at least one of the following constituents: a reinforcement and a filler, the cord being pulled by a haul-off mechanism downstream from the sheathing device. The cord is sheathed by forming a layer of the adherent mixture onto the cord, the roughness of the sheath formed in this way being created by the sheathed cord leaving the sheathing device.

  • Publication number: 20080171200
Abstract: A process for manufacturing rods of reinforcement concentrates, a device for implementing the process, and products obtained. The method includes heating and shaping at least one bundle of strands having more than 70% by weight of reinforcing material and a moisture content of at least 0.1% before being cut up into rods.

  • Publication number: 20080107846
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a composite hollow body including an internal coating and at least one external coating of composite based on thermoplastic and glass. A powder is sprayed onto a support of a shape suited to the shape of the hollow body to cover the support, and a composite heated tape configured to form the external coating of the body is wound around the support covered with powder, the heat of the tape helping to melt the powder.
