  • Publication number: 20230060822
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for at least partially digesting a uranium (U)-based target material which comprises at least one uranium-metal (U-Me) alloy containing Mn, Fe, Co or Ni and comprising at least a U6Me phase. By means of an accelerant in a basic solution, the uranium in U-Me alloy oxidizes to U(VI). The accelerant comprises in particular KMnO4 whilst the U-Me alloy comprises a U—Mn alloy. The alloy preferably comprises two phases of an eutectic system, in particular the U6Mn/UMn2 system. The use of the accelerant enables an enhanced digestion of the U-Me alloy.

  • Patent number: 5919241
Abstract: A vehicle with an electric power steering system has a steering shaft with a resonant frequency of free rotational oscillation and a control which derives a driver assist torque signal, a return to center torque signal and an active damping torque signal and sums these signals to provide a motor command signal to the electric motor. The active damping torque signal is derived by filtering a generated steering shaft position signal in a filter having amplitude and phase characteristics of a differentiator from zero Hertz only through the resonant frequency of free rotational oscillation of the steering shaft and multiplying the filtered steering shaft position signal by a vehicle velocity factor derived from sensed vehicle velocity. Preferably, the electric motor is provided with one or more rotor position sensors used in the control thereof and rotor position signals from the rotor position sensors are provided as the steering shaft position signal.

  • Patent number: 5719766
Abstract: In a vehicle with an electric power steering system, an electric power steering control apparatus comprising a torque sensor outputting a torque signal indicative of steering column torque, a controller receiving the torque signal and, responsive thereto, providing a motor current command, an electric motor providing power assist to the electric power steering system responsive to the motor current command, and a compensating filter, within the controller, receiving the torque signal and providing a transfer function operation thereon, wherein the motor current command is responsive to the output of the compensating filter and wherein stability margins of the system are enhanced.

  • Patent number: 5704446
Abstract: An electric power steering control apparatus comprising a vehicle steering wheel, a torque sensor for sensing torque in the vehicle steering column, a motor for providing motive force power assist to the steering system, a controller receiving the torque sensor signal and providing a motor control command to the motor responsive thereto, wherein the motor provides the motive force power assist responsive to the motor control command, and a high pass/low pass filter in the controller, wherein the high pass/low pass filter isolates low frequency components of the sensed vehicle steering system torque representing operator input torque and wherein the controller, responsive to the low frequency components determines a first, driver responsive, component of the motor control command, wherein the high pass/low pass filter isolates high frequency components of the sensed vehicle steering system torque and wherein the controller, responsive to the high frequency components, determines a second component of the motor
