  • Patent number: 11954807
Abstract: A method for generating an at least 2-dimensional virtual representation of a real environment is disclosed, the generation being performed by a mixed virtual reality headset intended to be worn by a user, the mixed virtual reality headset being associated with at least one interface device. The generation method includes acquiring relative coordinates in the real environment, corresponding to a position of the interface device in the real environment; following an interaction of the user on the interface device, determining, as a function of the relative coordinates of the position of the interface device in the real environment, a corresponding point in the virtual representation; and generating the virtual representation from at least the point associated with the relative coordinates of the acquired position of the interface device. The development also relates to a mixed virtual reality headset and a corresponding interface device.

  • Publication number: 20230042781
Abstract: An interaction peripheral, a method for detecting a real point, a virtual reality headset, a method for reproducing a real point in virtual space, a device and a method for virtualising a real space, particularly allowing a plane to be obtained in two, three or n dimensions of a real space which may be reproducible in virtual reality. An interaction peripheral which can be connected to a virtual reality headset, includes a range finder which can supply, to the headset, a measurement signal including a relative position measurement of a real point of a real space, the real point being sighted by the range finder. The measurement signal enables reproduction of the real point measured in a virtual space generated by the headset. Thus, the real point can be reproduced in real space while reducing risks of errors because the measurement tools are simple interaction peripherals handled by a user.

  • Publication number: 20100268766
Abstract: In a geographical information system, a spatial environment is represented according to representation data with reference to geographical areas. The geographical information system comprises a server and a terminal connected via a communication network. The server stores the representation data according to the geographical areas. A selection of a plurality of geographical areas is made at the level of the terminal, as a function of a criterion relating to a load level of the terminal. A request is sent from the terminal to the server indicating the selected plurality of geographical areas. The terminal receives the representation data according to a continuous transmission protocol.

  • Publication number: 20100217656
Abstract: A method of supervising the activity of a user in a virtual world comprising the steps of: (1) detecting at least one item of collision information between an observation line associated with the user and at least one first virtual object within the virtual world; and (2) determining at least one item of interaction information between the user and the first object on the basis of the collision information.
