  • Patent number: 9636755
Abstract: A tool for machining a wall of a workpiece, made from a composite material, that can cut a groove in the wall, the tool including a head mounted integrally with a rod having a longitudinal axis and capable of being driven in rotation about the longitudinal axis. The head includes at least one main protruding annular rib with an outer surface covered with abrasive grains of predetermined particle size and with a radial height corresponding to the depth of the groove to be cut, and at least one auxiliary protruding annular rib with an outer surface covered with abrasive grains of predetermined particle size and with a radial height less than the radial height of a main rib. The auxiliary rib includes two circular ridges separated by a ring band that is flat and that can be conical in shape.

    Assignee: SNECMA
    Inventors: Christophe Grosbois, Mathias Seve
  • Patent number: 9108331
Abstract: A device for cutting a fibrous preform, for production of a part made of a composite material by injection of resin under vacuum. The device includes a die for receiving the preform, on which a template of outer edges of the part is referenced, a mechanism cutting outer edges of the preform according to the template, and a mechanism for cooling the preform that is suitable for solidifying a liquid forming a substrate for the preform.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 10, 2011
Date of Patent: August 18, 2015
    Assignee: SNECMA
    Inventors: Christophe Grosbois, Damien Hebuterne

  • Patent number: 7987574
Abstract: A process for manufacturing a component with an insert made of a composite is disclosed. The composite includes a metal matrix, within which ceramic fibers extend. The insert is made of a composite which is obtained from a plurality of coated filaments, each filament includes a ceramic fiber coated with a metal sheath. The process includes winding a bundle or bonded sheet of coated filaments around a body of revolution perpendicular to the axis of rotation of said body. The insert is then subjected to a hot isostatic pressing step in a container. The process is applied to the manufacture of aeronautical turbomachine components.

Abstract: Process for manufacturing a component with an insert made of a composite comprising a metal matrix, within which ceramic fibers extend, the insert made of a composite being obtained from a plurality of coated filaments, each comprising a ceramic fiber coated with a metal sheath, characterized in that it comprises the manufacture of an insert with a step of winding a bundle or bonded sheet of coated filaments around a body of revolution perpendicular to the axis of rotation of said body. The insert is then subjected to a hot isostatic pressing step in a container. The process is applied to the manufacture of aeronautical turbomachine components.
