  • Patent number: 5421654
Abstract: A composite annular encoder (15) for a bearing with information sensor (16), comprises an annular metal support (21) of L-shaped cross section with a plane radial part (21a) and an axial part (21b), and a annular element (22) produced as a single piece made from thermoplastic material, which annular element is constituted by a radial part (22a) which includes the multipole ring (22b) and is overmolded onto the plane radial part (21a) of the metal support, and by an axial retaining part (22c) overmolded onto the outer surface of the axial part (21b) of the metal support. The metal support has, on its axial part, anchoring points (21c, 21d) for the overmolding of the axial retaining part (22c) of the annular element made from thermoplastic material, enabling the thermoplastic annular element and the metal support to be rendered axially and circumferentially integral.

  • Patent number: 5382098
Abstract: The sealing device (1) for a bearing (2) includes a first piece (8) of annular overall shape secured to the non-rotating race (4) of the bearing and supporting a permanent magnet (14), a second piece (9) of annular overall shape secured to the rotating race (3) of the bearing and including an annular part forming a pulse generator and a flexible sealing part in contact with the first piece. In operation the first and second pieces (8, 9) mounted in the radial space between the rotating race and non-rotating race at one end of the bearing provide the sealing of the bearing with respect to the external surroundings, the permanent magnet (14) being arranged facing a sensor (11) which is fixed with respect to the non-rotating race, the pulse generator passing between the permanent magnet and the sensor during the rotation of the rotating race of the bearing.

  • Patent number: 5293124
Abstract: Device for sensing the rotational speed of a rotating element (4) mounted by means of a roller bearing on a non-rotating element (3), comprising a multipolar ring (17) which is integral with the rotating element, a sensor (19) which is made integral with the non-rotating element, and a magnetic flux concentrating means arranged in the immediate vicinity of the multipolar ring and cooperating with the sensor in order to concentrate and channel the magnetic flux emitted by the multipolar ring. The flux concentrating means is of annular shape and comprises at least a first end shield (24) having a radial part of which one circular edge is provided on its circumference with a sealing lip (25) intended for coming into contact directly or indirectly with the rotating element (4), and a second end shield (26) provided with radial teeth (27) spaced regularly along a circular path.

  • Patent number: 5195830
Abstract: Sensor assembly for data sensor bearing comprising a coder element (11) rigid with the rotating part (6) of the bearing and a sensor element (17, 18) rigid with the fixed part (7) of the bearing and arranged facing the coder element with an air gap, the assembly being produced as a single block with an annular sensor-holder part (15) provided with an annular span (28) for fitment onto the non-rotating race of the bearing, and an annular leaktight carrier part (16) axially offset relative to the sensor-holder part and carrying a leaktight seal (24, 25), the leaktight seal co-operating with the coder element fitted onto the rotating race of the bearing.Application to vehicle wheel hubs equipped with an ABS system.
